Activities for Kids to Do at Home

I think almost all of us have kiddos at home for the next few weeks or possibly longer.  I am happy to have my girls with me and am super fortunate to have the ability to work from home right now.  I already know that both of my girls are going to be climbing the walls soon enough without their normal full schedules of school, friends, extra circulars and sports and I wanted to get together a few ideas this weekend. I thought some of you might be in planning mode as well.

I put together some ideas of activities for kids and for tweens/teens that they can do at home including simple crafts that will hopefully entertain them a bit and keep everyone happy and healthy. I tried to recommend things that are simple and don’t require a lot of running around.  I tried to list all the ingredients for almost everything with Target store pick up or Amazon delivery to minimize running around.

IDEAS FOR KIDS:

  • Homemade Playdoh:  (ingredients~ 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 /)
  • Shrinky Dink Art: (Kits here or see more DIY ideas in post- these would be great to make now for Mother’s Day/Father’s Day)
  • Giant Bubble Wand: (ingredients probably require a trip to Home Depot or Lowe’s or or get a kit here)
  • Funfetti Slime: (ingredients~ 1 / 2 / 3 /)

If crafting isn’t your thing:

Hula Hoops //Air Hover Soccer //  Race Cars // Glitter Playdoh // Kite // Paint Sticks // Bubbles // Cookbooks // Face Paint

IDEAS FOR BIG KIDS/TWEENS:

Perler Bead Headphone Case (Perler Beads here) // Rainbow Tie Dye shoes (Tie Dye Kit and shoes here) // Outdoor Movie Night (cutest inflatable pools here) // Animal Necklaces (supplies here:  animals / Wax Thread )

If crafting isn’t your thing:

Multicolored Pencils // Jigsaw Puzzle //. Wax Thread // Beads // Nerf Perfect Smash Football or Basketball // Flybar Trick Pogo // Color Change Slime Kit

Hopefully these ideas help keep the kids busy for a little while over the next few weeks.

If you need more ideas, you might check out my children’s crafts Pinterest board.  I am adding tons of pins weekly with new ideas to keep kids busy.

I went ahead and subscribed to the Disney+ channel but if you happen to be a Verizon customer, you can get a year free.  They are streaming Frozen 2 right now.

Stay Healthy Friends!
