Here is another idea for Valentine’s Day- this one is a free printable and you can use it in a few different ways. For the children with crayons, homemade crayons, markers, pens or I think it makes a really cute little teacher gift!
Those of you with older children might use this as well as a Valentine with really cool glitter pens and such.
To make crayons is super simple and this could be a fun project to do with the little ones. You can make these in any color or size or shape that you like. Get the directions for homemade crayons here.
And if you don’t want to make the crayons- here is how they look with box crayons from the store. Crayola makes 8 packs with Princesses, Mermaids, Neon, Pirates, Superheroes– I think these are really fun.
If you want to skip the little cello bag- just trim down the printable and it can be tied to the front of the Crayon box.
And I just love this for a teacher gift. Inexpensive, useful and I think it is cute. You can put Dry Erase markers inside, fun pens… whatever you think the teacher might like. I bought some great gel pens at the craft store, added them to a blue Ball Jar and tied with baker’s twine. Make a nice table for dinner for Valentine’s Day with cheap grills on Amazon.
DOWNLOAD YOUR FREE BAG TOPPER HERE.
PS: I am repeating this idea again this year with our teachers. I changed it up a little:
This particular teacher needed highlighters otherwise I would have purchased my favorite Papermate pens you can find here.
And here are a few other ideas for your Valentine’s Day:
Free Printable Bouncy Ball Valentine
Valentine’s Day Brownie Bites- these are so simple and great for class parties!
Valentine’s Day White Chocolate Rice Krispies treats– these are DELISH!
You have such cute ideas!!! I love your “have a colorful valentine’s day” but I can’t find the printable. Can you tell me where I can find it?
Hi D, that is so nice of you. Click the link at the bottom under the mason jar with pens that says “Download your bag topper here” it is in bold and slightly larger font. It is a PDF so it takes just a minute to open up. 🙂
Any chance you can make the bag topper 6 1/2″ wide ?
I love your design but the size that’s available doesn’t fit the width of my ziplock bags.
Hi,
Can I buy the “Hope you have a colorful Valentine’s Day” toppers from you instead of downloading?
Thanks!
Is it possible for you to do 8 on a page for the crayon box idea? Thank you! You saved valentines for the 3 kids with this one!!
I can’t get the colorful valentines day card to open could you possibly email it to me it is so adorable
Jaime,
I believe this is a pdf file so do you have a free Adobe download on your computer to open pdfs? I did email it to you so hopefully that works.
Charlene
I am using the “Colorful Valentine’s day” printable for my daughter’s preschool class. Is it possible for you to make 8 on a page. This is going to be a hit with her class. Thank you
Thank you so much! I printed onto labels and stuck them onto some Crayola 4-packs! They are adorable!!!!! Will be checking back in to see what else you are working on. Thanks for the idea!
So very happy to hear that Charise! I was going to update and mention I saw 3 packs of 8 count Crayola crayons at the Dollar Tree this week. It was the ones that have characters on them like Princesses and Pirates and such. Sounds like you got it covered though. Those 4 packs of crayons are awesome to keep in purse for entertainment on the go 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing! I found glitter markers on clearance at Office Max and then went searching Pinterest to find a matching card/tag….Yours fit the bill! Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
Hi, I love this printable. any chance you can share the name of the fonts used? Thank you!
Thank you so much for the printable! I folded a ziplock in half and rolled the top down and stapled. It worked perfectly.
Hi Charlene,
I am also having trouble getting the PDF to open and I have Adobe on my computer. Would you mind emailing the file to me?
Thank you so much! I love this 🙂
Hi! I want to make these “color valentines” with a package of colored pencils and sell them at a bazaar to raise money for a non-profit. Is that okay? Wanted to double check first!
Thanks
Hi Amber,
That one specific situation is fine. Thank you asking. 🙂 What is annoying is when people use the free printables on my blog and sell them on Etsy. It happens all.the.time and is infuriating.
Happy Valentine’s Day,
I got litake water color paints and went to Pinterest to find a tag, you have pleasantly surprised me! Your idea is a perfect match. I’m having trouble downloading it from the link, could you possibly email it to me?
Hi Jackie,
This is a PDF so you need the free Adobe software to download. Here is the link- does this work better?

Thank you so much! I’m on my third child using your template. I buy boxes of crayons at the beginning of the school year when they are 50 cents each and stock up. What a cheap valentine that the kids can use!
Oh so smart of you to stock up Anna! Glad these worked for you 🙂
Hello, I love this idea! Is there someway to print two to a page? I’d like to put it on a mason jar and would like it to be bigger. Thanks so much!! Jennifer
Hi Charlene
Love it!
Any chance you could post the ‘international’ version of the topper, i.e., with ‘colourful’ instead of colorful? Hoping to use this with students in New Zealand!
