Here is a super easy idea for a little Valentine’s Day treat. Cute little brownie bites.
I can tell you that it was hard to get photos of these because my family (ok me- stop judging) kept sneaking tastes. They are really delicious and not overly sweet like some Valentine’s Day treats can be.
To make these could not be easier. I used Sugar Bowl bakery brownie bites that are absolutely delicious. You can also use a from scratch brownie recipe or a box mix in mini muffin pans. One box of mix should make about 30 brownie bites. I think these would still look pretty with standard square brownies too.
Next you just need a bit of whipped cream- I made mine with the recipe here– it is light and fresh and delicious. You can also buy whipped cream in a can but really to make your own is so fast and the flavor is so much better. I have found fresh whipped cream will hold up for a few hours on a cool day but it is best to pipe the whipped cream on close to serving.
Just dallop your whipped cream on top with a spoon or I added mine to a Ziploc bag and cut the very tip off to pipe it on.
And now you can add sprinkles if you like or drizzle on a little extra chocolate. I chose to keep it nice and fresh and clean without anything else added on top.
Then I took a mini heart shaped cookie cutter and some slices of strawberry and cut the strawberries into heart shapes- slice off the top of the berry, then slice it lengthwise and then use your mini cookie cutter for the hearts. You can also cut hearts free hand with just a paring knife. I would wait to pop the strawberries on top until just before you are ready to serve.
Now just pop the strawberries right on top! This is really such a fast little treat- you might make these for class parties or just make a batch to surprise the little ones (and big ones) after dinner. If you buy the brownie bites, the total time to make whipped cream and assemble is probably 10 minutes.
And that’s it! A cute and fun little treat for Valentine’s Day.

These brownie bites look so good! And way to go the
extra mile by dutifully taste-testing them for us again and
again…a grateful readership thanks you!
How cute!! Now, if I can find some good strawberries that don’t cost a fortune. I made those cute little grinch kabobs at Christmas time, and spent $6 at Raleys (and they weren’t very good). The kids liked them, so I guess that is all that counts!
Nicole, I bought these at Walmart and I was not thrilled at all. I never buy produce at Walmart but there is a new one right by our house and I was in a rush :P. These strawberries had big holes in the center. I usually get them at Sprouts or Costco- the Organic is reasonably priced.
I’ll try Costco next time, thanks!
