6pk Playdoh Slime // Bead Kit // Kinetic Sand // Tie Dye Kit // Shrinky Dink Kit // Bouncy Ball Kit // Sidewalk Chalk Kit // Rock Painting Kit // Water Balloon Kit // Lego Building Kit // Metallic Slime kit
I thought I’d put together another post with just a few ideas of arts and crafts the kids can do at home. My girls actually have a lot of school work each day and they are practicing respective sports in the backyard and helping a tiny bit more around the house. Their days are actually pretty full but both kids have been digging around in my craft bins trying to find something creative to do.
I thought some of you might also be looking for activities to keep them inside or in the yard but engaged and occupied for at least a little while. I ordered a bead kit for my 12 year old and she has been making bracelets for her friends and we are mailing out little care packages. (I ordered the wax string and bead kit posted here).
She also dug out a tie dye kit from last summer and tie dyed some old Converse sneakers. (see the tutorial here). I am ordering Shrinky Dink paper for her and she is going to make little keychains with her soccer teammates numbers on them to mail out. (I have been pinning a lot of Shrinky Dink ideas on pinterest here. We saw ideas for monograms and I think sports numbers would work perfectly).
It isn’t quite warm enough for water balloons but a water balloon fight with Dad is in the works as soon as the weather gets a tiny bit warmer and next up is rock painting as I have been starting to do some spring yard work and planting.
Hopefully some of these ideas will work for your own kiddos and maybe it is something the entire family can do together.
Note Target is offering 25% off one toy right now. You can apply the coupon online and order for pick up or delivery. This doesn’t apply to a lot of the kits I looked at or Legos but if you do want to pick up something extra for the kids, you might check this out.
