Emoji Cookie

I have a super simple treat that is so fun for kids or for Valentine’s Day.  These little heart eye emojis are fun and fast and actually really good!

I made these with my girls for a Valentine’s Day treat to pass out to their little friends and we may or may not have had several ourselves.

Chocolate Covered oreo recipe

So here goes- to make these you just need a few ingredients:

Emoji Cookies

The candy melts in bright yellow, sandwich cookies, heart sprinkles and either food safe pens or black icing.

To get a nice clean cookie, a little cookie/candy mold is incredibly helpful.  I had a hard time finding one at the craft stores so you might consider ordering online to pick yours up.  I could only find cookie molds with designs and wound up cutting circles of parchment out to try and create a flat surface for the cookie.  Massive pain.

I like to melt the candies and pour into a pastry bag.  Working quickly I squeeze a little yellow into the bottom of the cookie tray, squish in a sandwich cookie and then top with more melted candy.  Next I bang the tray on the counter to be sure the melt spreads evenly.  Using the pastry bag works really well to get just the right amount of melted candy chips.

Next I pop the coated cookies in the fridge for about 10 min to harden.  Then should easily pop right out of the tray.

Dab a tiny amount of the melted candy onto a knife and use that as the glue to adhere your heart eyes. Use black gel icing or a black food safe marker to add the smile and ta da!  Done!

Here is what I used for the cookies:

And you can totally go crazy with the emojis.  We also made some with these candy eyes:

And we made some of the pink hearts with yellow stars using these:

And here are the food safe markers I mentioned:
