I have the easiest children’s treat idea for you today and I can pretty much guarantee this will be a hit with the kids!
I made these little teddy bear racecars probably 3 years ago for a preschool snack and my kids loved them. When I asked my little girl what she wanted to take to school for her 6th birthday class celebration, she actually remembered them and asked to have them again 🙂
No problem sweet girl! Â Teddy bear race cars coming right up.
I am not sure what genius came up with the original idea to make these darling little treats- I saw them years ago on an Australian blog called Kidspot.Â
These are incredibly simple to make but they are just a little time consuming. Â I’d say it took me about an hour to make 25 cars but turn on your favorite TV show and start the assembly line and I bet they are done before you know it.
Here is what you need:
- Fun Size Candy Bars (I used Snickers but Milky Way works if you have peanut allergy issues)
- M&Ms
- Teddy Grahams
- Chocolate Chips  (I used milk chocolate)
And to get started unwrap all your fun size candy bars and depending on the time of year you might pop them in the freezer. Â I live in CA and it was a little warm when I made these so if they are soft or slightly melted at all put them in the freezer for about 15 minutes and they will be much easier to work with.
Color sort your M&Ms if you like- I think it looks nicer with the wheels all the same color.  I had my girls color sort the candy and they got to keep any misshapen M&Ms 😉
Next melt some chocolate chips in a small bowl- you don’t need a lot about 1/4 cup is probably plenty. Â Melt in a glass bowl in 40 second intervals, stirring in between until completely smooth and melted.
Add the melted chocolate chips into a Ziploc snack or sandwich bag, seal and snip off one small corner to create a piping bag.
Pick up the Snickers candy bar and dab a small amount of melted chocolate on four corners and then gently stick the M&Ms on top to create wheels. Continue working until all the wheels are on the candy bars.
(I did an assembly line with all the wheels first, then the steering wheel and lastly the Teddy car driver but you can do the entire car at once if you prefer. I actually did these in 15 minute increments over the course of a few days so you can absolutely make these ahead as long as you don’t have issues with melting chocolate. Store them in an airtight container in the freezer if that is an issue.)Â
Next cut an M&M in half to create the steering wheel. I found the M&Ms a little hard to cleanly cut so a paring knife is perfect to use (not a serrated knife as the candy will crumble apart.)
Place a small line of chocolate on the bottom cut portion of the M&M and gently place on the candy bar. Once all the steering wheels are attached, lay your Teddy Grahams on a cutting board and carefully chop off the legs.
I used Mini Teddy Grahams for my treats but regular size Teddy Grahams should be fine as well. Place a small line of chocolate on the bottom cut portion of the cookie and then I put a larger dollop on the back of the bear to give it more adhesion when you stick it to the candy bar. The most important thing is to do a thin line at the bottom so it doesn’t look messy on the front of the treat.
And now set aside and allow the chocolate to set for just a few minutes. Â These should be ready to go!
I thought I might have some touch up work with tires falling off and such but I transferred these from the cutting board to a Tupperware container the morning of the party and had no issues at all.
And if you like these treats, here are a few other fun ideas:

I have made the bear cars for our Cub Scouts to celebrate their Pine Wood Derby and they were a big hit. We used Spree candies for the wheels.

Great idea Amy!
