I absolutely love fat quarters- such a cheap way to gather tons of different colors and patterns of fabric. I usually get fat quarters for $.75-1.00 each on sale at the craft stores and I tend to buy lots of them.
I use them as photography props for the blog but there are so many other ways to use fat quarters to come up with amazing and super afforable projects.
Here are 20 fun ideas for things for the entire family – some of these ideas require sewing skills and some of them do not.
- Napkins with pom fringe
- Fat Quarter Adult Apron
- Fat Quarter Trays
- Fat Quarter Stuffed animal
- Reusable Bag
- Pacifier Clip
- No Sew Treasure Pouch
- Fabric Banner
- Doll Sleeping Bag and Pillow
- Fabric Covered Journal
These don’t specifically reference fat quarters, but depending on the size you choose could totally work:
- Floral Monogram
- Doll or Baby Blanket (very cute gift idea)
- Fabric Covered Boxes
- Fabric Covered Knobs
- DIY Fabric Covered Lampshade
And what do you like to do with your fat quarters?

Thanks so much for linking out to the Perfect Baby Burp Cloth pattern. I love how you can sew these production line style and get three from a fat quarter – you can make up a ton of really high quality ones in no time!

The site is so riddled with ads that the links won’t open. So sad and disappointing.

Really? I have very nominal ads on my site so it is easy to navigate. Unfortunately it isn’t feasible to run a blog for free- you do need the ads to generate revenue to pay for the hosting, the newsletter services etc…
Sorry you are unhappy Jean- take care.
