CLOSED: Giveaway: Keurig Brewing System!

keurig

The winner was AnnMarie via comment contest random selection.  If I do not hear from her by Sunday I will select an alternate winner.

AnnMarie says I”ve tried this coffee before at my friend’s house and it was excellent. Ever since, I have wanted this coffee maker, but something else always comes up. I love flavored coffees but my husband doesn’t. How awesome it would be to own something like this!!!!!

I have a fantastic giveaway in honor of Mother’s Day and I can’t wait to see who wins this baby!

I recently got the chance to check out the Keurig Special Edition Brewing System and Keurig was kind enough to give a brewing system to one lucky MFA reader.

I had heard so many raves about the Keurig machines that I couldn’t wait to check it out.   I happen to love coffee.  I am one of those people that sings the Folger’s song every morning..“the best part of waking up..is coffee in my cup!” And I have had a Tassimo machine for awhile which I adore.

Now I am not going to tell you that these coffeemakers are frugal.  This Special Edition coffeemaker is currently $150 on Amazon.  You also need to buy the K-Cups which go on sale for $15 for 48 cups.

If you can fit this into your budget I have to tell you these machines just make wonderful cups of coffee.  I ran out of Tassimo disks a few weeks ago and went back to my regular old pot coffee and the difference was astounding.

For me the major advantage to the Tassimo is that you can make espresso beverages.  So I can make cappuccinos, Chai Lattes, Caramel Macchiatos etc.. in addition to regular coffee and teas.

But what I noticed about the Keurig is that it is much sleeker looking on the counter.  Also it seems to me that the Keurig K-cups are much less expensive than the Tassimo Disks.  I think for those that just love really good coffee or tea the Keurig is a great answer. One other advantage to the Keurig is that you can buy the reusable filter and grind and brew your own coffee- which might be a little less expensive.

One other thing I just love about these machines is how neat and clean they are.  I have to refill the water about once a week (more for the Tassimo) and then just pop the cartridge in and done!  For some reason actually brewing a pot of coffee always used to seem like such a massive production first thing in the morning.

*********

So here is your chance to get your hands on this awesome machine!

1. How do you make your coffee everyday?  I start the morning with a cup of Gevalia(Tassimo) or Green Mountain (Keurig) and then move onto a Chai Latte or Caramel Macchiato in the afternoon.  Before I started my frugal adventure I used to hit Starbucks twice a day (yikes!)

If you would like extra entries- you can do this once per day- just be sure to leave a comment letting me know you did!

I brew in a regular coffee pot. But I had a Tassimo for a couple of months and loved the ease of it. I’d love to try the Keurig!

I use a single cup brew cone filter! It’s been my Frugal brewing system in place of a keurig (which I would love to be spoiled with!). I put the 2-cup paper filter into the cone, set the cone filled with coffee grounds over my mug, and pour near boiling water over the grounds. This is old-school coffee brewing!!

I’m currently a Starbucks gal. (although I only hit it up 1x a day or every other day) 🙂 We have a home espresso machine, and while my husband uses it faithfully, I refuse to learn to use it. Either he can make it for me or I go to Starbucks. lol

I’ve seen these coffee makers at the mall and they look soo easy to use!

I make my coffee in a drip coffee maker using Rawandan coffee from Costco, it is super dark, rich. I fix it up with 1/2 and 1/2 and some sugar and am ready to start the day.

We currently have an old school drip machine and I start my day with at least 2 cups with splenda and half and half. We ALWAYS have some left in the pot though and it seems like such a waste…always thought the keurig system was brilliant for that reason!

We drink Starbucks. When there is a good deal at Target I stock up on Pike’s place. When I’m done with the bag I take it to Starbucks to get a fresh brewed cup of coffee. This past time I used my bag to get the “bold” coffee of the week for 8 weeks and earned my free bag of beans. Love making those deals stretch!

I make coffee the normal way, in a drip coffee maker. coffee is okay, but not great and it is on its’ last legs (I drink too much cofffee and wear machines out). Would love a new one like this.

I make my coffee the night before and set the timer. In the morning, I sneak downstairs early to pour my husband and myself a cup and bring it back to bed so we can wake up together slowly (before the turmoil begins). I would LOVE a Keurig, as my coffee pot seems to make cloudy coffe these days!

  36. tammy says

    05/02/2010 at 7:20 AM

This would be awesome. I have to have coffee everyday and I have just a regular coffee pot. My neighbor has one of these and they are nice! Thanks for the chance to win one.

I don’t drink coffee everyday because I’m too lazy to make it, but on days when I work at the hospital, I hit Dunkin Donuts on my way in.

  38. Sara says

My husband uses our coffee maker to make tea in everyday. So I have to use the microwave and make me a cup of ‘instant’ coffee so our tea doesn’t taste funny. Instant coffee is not the same as a good cup of brewed coffee. I want this Keurig machine BAD!!!

I live within walking distance of five Starbucks, so its hard not to pass up! Fortunately everyone knows how close I am/how addicted I am so I receive many gift cards for gifts!
I also am a big fan of tea which I make myself.

I usually make ice coffee from coffee concentrate. I love coffee but limit myself to one cup in the morning. I couldn’t make it through my day without it!
