AnnMarie says I”ve tried this coffee before at my friend’s house and it was excellent. Ever since, I have wanted this coffee maker, but something else always comes up. I love flavored coffees but my husband doesn’t. How awesome it would be to own something like this!!!!!

I recently got the chance to check out the Keurig Special Edition Brewing System and Keurig was kind enough to give a brewing system to one lucky MFA reader.

I had heard so many raves about the Keurig machines that I couldn’t wait to check it out.   I happen to love coffee.  I am one of those people that sings the Folger’s song every morning..“the best part of waking up..is coffee in my cup!” And I have had a Tassimo machine for awhile which I adore.

Now I am not going to tell you that these coffeemakers are frugal.  This Special Edition coffeemaker is currently $150 on Amazon.  You also need to buy the K-Cups which go on sale for $15 for 48 cups.

If you can fit this into your budget I have to tell you these machines just make wonderful cups of coffee.  I ran out of Tassimo disks a few weeks ago and went back to my regular old pot coffee and the difference was astounding.

For me the major advantage to the Tassimo is that you can make espresso beverages.  So I can make cappuccinos, Chai Lattes, Caramel Macchiatos etc.. in addition to regular coffee and teas.

But what I noticed about the Keurig is that it is much sleeker looking on the counter.  Also it seems to me that the Keurig K-cups are much less expensive than the Tassimo Disks.  I think for those that just love really good coffee or tea the Keurig is a great answer. One other advantage to the Keurig is that you can buy the reusable filter and grind and brew your own coffee- which might be a little less expensive.

One other thing I just love about these machines is how neat and clean they are.  I have to refill the water about once a week (more for the Tassimo) and then just pop the cartridge in and done!  For some reason actually brewing a pot of coffee always used to seem like such a massive production first thing in the morning.

    I love my Keurig but I’d really love to have one for my office!!

    I always start my day with a Coffee People “Jet Fuel” YUM!! Then in the afternoon after work, I often have a Coffee People “Wake-Up Call” and then later in the evening I’ll often enjoy a Bigelow “Cozy Chamomile” Herb Tea.. I love love love love it!

    I make a pot of coffee each morning just big enough to fill 2 travel mugs. Typically Starbucks or Duncan Donuts (which ever I have on hand from the latest sale).

    I’m a 2 cup of coffee a day kind of girl! I love my basic coffee with half and half (just cream and milk) and something sweet in the evening!

    I have a mini Keurig. I use the My K Cup with Dunkin Donuts Turbo sometimes.

    I start my morning using my now single cup coffee maker since our 12 cup pot broke. My husband and I race to see who can get the first cup, if I loose out and its a day I work I end up buying Starbucks at work but I take my own mug and get it for $0.47 so at least its a deal!

    I start with the standard coffee pot brew about every-other day, due to perpetual lateness. I think the Keurig would might help me save a few of those precious morning minutes… and help me wake up before work. 🙂

    We have a Tassimo machine, and I love the chai lattes. That’s about all I drink these days. You’re right, they are expensive! Would love to try the Keurig out!

    I always start my day with fresh brewed coffee and I end my days most of the time with a cup of coffee. There is something about holding a hot cup of coffee before the kids get up that lets me know that I can make it through the day.

    I grind Starbuck’s coffee beans and use them in my french press…I like the taste of pressed coffee better than drip coffee makers. (And I get the 3 pound bags of Starbucks coffee at Cosco now, as a compromise to my former “twice a day at a Starbucks shop” habit too!) I have a new baby so I can only have one cup a day right now..but soon I will have my late afternoon cup back 🙂

    Like you, I used to go to Starbucks twice a day. I love hot coffee! Even on a hot summer day, I will still get a hot coffee! I make a pot of coffee every morning. Usually drink most of it! I just read somewhere that coffe starts to go bad after a half hour. I was thinking of how great a keurig would be to have fresh hot coffee all day. Thanks for all you do!

    My husband drinks coffee and he makes it on the stove like cowboy coffee. I bought him a coffee pot that will make one cup but he says that it takes to long to brew.
