CLOSED: Giveaway: Keurig Brewing System!

05/01/2010 By Charlene

keurig

The winner was AnnMarie via comment contest random selection.  If I do not hear from her by Sunday I will select an alternate winner.

AnnMarie says I”ve tried this coffee before at my friend’s house and it was excellent. Ever since, I have wanted this coffee maker, but something else always comes up. I love flavored coffees but my husband doesn’t. How awesome it would be to own something like this!!!!!

I have a fantastic giveaway in honor of Mother’s Day and I can’t wait to see who wins this baby!

I recently got the chance to check out the Keurig Special Edition Brewing System and Keurig was kind enough to give a brewing system to one lucky MFA reader.

I had heard so many raves about the Keurig machines that I couldn’t wait to check it out.   I happen to love coffee.  I am one of those people that sings the Folger’s song every morning..“the best part of waking up..is coffee in my cup!” And I have had a Tassimo machine for awhile which I adore.

Now I am not going to tell you that these coffeemakers are frugal.  This Special Edition coffeemaker is currently $150 on Amazon.  You also need to buy the K-Cups which go on sale for $15 for 48 cups.

If you can fit this into your budget I have to tell you these machines just make wonderful cups of coffee.  I ran out of Tassimo disks a few weeks ago and went back to my regular old pot coffee and the difference was astounding.

For me the major advantage to the Tassimo is that you can make espresso beverages.  So I can make cappuccinos, Chai Lattes, Caramel Macchiatos etc.. in addition to regular coffee and teas.

But what I noticed about the Keurig is that it is much sleeker looking on the counter.  Also it seems to me that the Keurig K-cups are much less expensive than the Tassimo Disks.  I think for those that just love really good coffee or tea the Keurig is a great answer. One other advantage to the Keurig is that you can buy the reusable filter and grind and brew your own coffee- which might be a little less expensive.

One other thing I just love about these machines is how neat and clean they are.  I have to refill the water about once a week (more for the Tassimo) and then just pop the cartridge in and done!  For some reason actually brewing a pot of coffee always used to seem like such a massive production first thing in the morning.

*********

So here is your chance to get your hands on this awesome machine!

Enter to win by leaving a comment below letting me know:

1. How do you make your coffee everyday?  I start the morning with a cup of Gevalia(Tassimo) or Green Mountain (Keurig) and then move onto a Chai Latte or Caramel Macchiato in the afternoon.  Before I started my frugal adventure I used to hit Starbucks twice a day (yikes!)

If you would like extra entries- you can do this once per day- just be sure to leave a comment letting me know you did!

I have to have coffee every morning! Sometimes I brew my own regular coffee or my own espresso (kind of a pain) or hit up Starbucks if I’m out and about. This sounds so much easier, would love it!

My husband gets up at 5 am and makes the coffee before he goes to work, if I’m lucky when I wake up there is some left! 🙂 We usually just make Maxwell House and it is o.k. but my parents have a Keurig and I LOVE it! Every time I go over there I have to make a cup of coffee…I am so jealous of it! 🙂

Mr. Keurig is my new best friend! Similarly, I was a Starbucks person and it really makes me nauseous to think about all the money I shelled out every day! Keurig makes delicious coffee every cup! I start off with Van Houtte French Vanilla and then Coffee House Donut Shop. Afternoon is Green Mountain Rainforest Nut. I would love to win the special edition brewing system for a caffiene addicted MOM 🙂

I drink tea every morning, but I also LOVE soy Lattes. My husband is a coffee ADICT.

I’ve always admired these systems from afar. Although I fantasize about training my kids to make coffee in the morning, this is the next best thing!

For my daughter Emma, she’s 22 and lives on her own and loves loves coffee- she usually gets it at a coffee shop and has been complaining how expensive it is. She wants one of these machines sooo badly! I hope I win it so I can give it to her on her birthday, which is June 13th!! Thanks so much!

I’m not a coffee drinker, but adore Chai Lattes! This may not be a cheap system, but it’s got to be cheaper than Starbucks!!!

I actually don’t drink coffee, but Hubby does! This would be great for him because many mornings I pour out half a pot of his coffee! He usually starts his day with some Starbucks Sumatra and often reenergizes mid-afternoon with another cup.

I make a pot of coffee every morning with freshly ground coffee beans from my local fair trade coffee shop!

I start my day off with a homemade cafe mocha. No budget for Starbucks any more. But a Chai Latte sounds amazing right now.

I start my day with a plain, black, black, black cup of coffee. If I’m in a rush, it is a coke.

  30. Tammi says

    05/01/2010 at 2:23 PM

I usually use an espresso machine to make my coffee drinks, but it can be a mess at times. Starbucks is great, but gets pricey if you make a habit of it.

  31. Cindy says

    05/01/2010 at 2:24 PM

I don’t drink coffee (I’ll just never be an adult LOL), but my husband does. I’ve wanted to get the Keurig for him and he’s the frugal one and says no. He makes coffee once a day and just reheats it, it seems like a waste to me, but he likes it. Single servings would be so much better for him :).

  32. Tiffany says

I brew fresh Kirkland’s Starbucks french roast every morning. Then in the afternoon I like a single cup but rarely make it (since I hate to make just one cup). The Keurig would be perfect for that!!!

  40. Ellen says

I so hope I win this!!! I can’t live without my morning coffee. Yes its true. Or maybe it’s others around me who can’t live without me having my morning coffee. Whichever way it is I want this!!

My husband uses a french press to make his coffee. He buys whole beans and then grinds them fresh each morning. I don’t drink coffee, but I do love to smell it!

We have a very simple coffee maker (from Kohls…we got it after a rebate that we found from your website 🙂 ) and we usually by basic coffee unless we have a coupon! We would LOVE to have some “good” coffee to get us going every day! My best friend has one of these coffee makers and LOVES it!

  45. Jenna Wall says

    05/01/2010 at 3:05 PM

Oh my gosh! How cool! I would love one of these. I start my morning by making my coffee the old fashion way. I measure my coffee, add my water and start. I have no timer or anything. I ALWAYS add a TON of sugar and some sort of flavored creamer . . . usually french vanilla or caramel. Can’t wait to see who wins!
