I did one of these last month and thought it would be fun to do another for October. Just random things I purchased recently any really liked. Obviously I just bought these, nothing sponsored here.
Elta MD Sunscreen. Sunscreen is so incredibly important. I just worked with my dermatologist to repair some sun damage I had on my face and I asked for her recommendation on a really good sunscreen and this is the one she suggested. It is a mineral sunscreen (= better) but it isn’t thick and milky white on your face. It is definitely a little more expensive but I think it is worth it to spend a bit more on quality skin care products. I bought the tinted version for myself and the plain version for my daughter. She gets sunburns because she plays soccer and she is on a topical acne regime to keep her skin clear, which makes it more sensitive. This sunscreen works beautifully and doesn’t melt and get in her eyes. I take this with me to softball games and when we will be in the sun for long periods of time and set a timer on my phone for 90 min and reapply. Can’t recommend this highly enough. I pay about $29 for 1.7oz typically. Prices do change often.
Expanding Pencil Case . My girls are in school 2 days a week and distance learning 3 days a week. That means packing everything up into a backpack and then unpacking everything at their home desks the rest of the week. I found this expanding pencil pouch and it works beautifully to keep everything from scissors to colored pencils to sharpeners and glue sticks all in one spot.
Lightweight Face Mask. I ordered these masks for a soccer tryout Addy did last week where they had to have masks on for the entire tryout process. These worked so well her teammate actually took her extra one to use. These are not super high quality masks but they are very lightweight and almost a silky material like a scarf. I just ordered a bunch more for a trip we have planned where we will be wearing masks for most of the day. These are extremely inexpensive so great to pack up in a bag for the kid’s backpacks this year. $5 or so for 2 is a great price.
Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum. I ordered this vacuum several weeks ago on the recommendation of my favorite cleaning IG account, Go Clean. We have a chocolate lab that sheds a lot and I absolutely can’t stand dog hair all over the couch. We have tried lint rollers, various vacuum attachments etc.. to keep it clean and nothing has worked as well as this vacuum. It has an attachment that works beautifully on fabric and serves as a giant lint remover. It is quick and keeps the sofa looking great. I am so happy with this vacuum (I use it on carpet only) we use this one I recommended last time for our hardwood floors. (PS: I bought it Sept 1st for $169 so just keep checking back and I bet the price goes down again.)
Metallic Markers These markers are fun if you have kid that enjoys art or if you write lots of lists and such. I got these for myself just for fun and my teenage daughter immediately stole them. These are great gifts for crafty kids or might be an idea to pick up now for stockings.
If you decide to pick any of these up, come back and let me know what you think.
