Whoa. Mother’s Day is right around the corner and this year poses an interesting challenge for many of us. What on Earth to get Mom and how to celebrate Mother’s Day on quarantine. I have the added challenge of a Mother’s Day birthday for my youngest daughter and I just realized I need to get her gifts ordered ASAP or they might not arrive in time. There are only 2 weeks left until Mother’s Day so I would definitely start thinking of ideas if you haven’t already and get those orders placed online or for curbside pickup.
I put together a few ideas of things that Mom might like and thought I’d share them with you. Lots of practical items that Mom will hopefully use day after day.
Capri Blue Candle. There are so many candles out there and this is a pretty typical gift but Capri Blue candles are just so amazing. Lots of you might be familiar with my favorite fragrance, Volcano, you see the products at Anthro a lot. Volcano is a perfect scent for Spring.
Flower Hand Stamped Necklace. These are so pretty and a beautiful alternative to floral bouquets. I would absolutely wear this and I can see getting one of these as a gift for my soon to be 13 year old too. This option for Mother’s and Daughters is so sweet as well.
Set of 3 Notebooks. Does Mom constantly make lists or notes? Maybe she is doing more projects these days and I love these affordable but beautiful Rifle Paper Co notebooks. I am constantly making lists and writing down notes and currently using my daughter’s old $.25 Mead notebook. Something a little more grown up is nice to have and these are thin and easily slip into a purse. These moleskin notebooks are a great alternative in solid colors and I think these Rifle Paper Co Pencils. go perfectly with them.
Mom and Me Journals . This is a sweet gift between a Mother and Daughter. I have one with my older daughter. Basically there are various writing prompts and space for Mom to fill it out and then daughter to fill it out. These are lovely keepsakes to remember a certain period of time and we all certainly have a little extra time on our hands right now.
Coffee Mugs. . I know coffee mugs are predictable but how gorgeous are these Anthro mugs? I love these and would probably never buy them for myself. Put these in a basket with some scones and gourmet coffee and you have a beautiful gift.
Eye Masks. I keep hearing how important self care is during these uncertain and stressful times and these little eye masks are a great way to treat yourself in the bath or maybe resting in the morning over coffee.
Moon + Joon Bath Fizz. And speaking of bath time. How pretty are these Joon + Moon bath products? These are super affordable and would be a great gift along with the eye masks or maybe some lovely haircare products (like this). This would be a great option with the candles mentioned above too. Oh and something super practical but one of my favorites is a Billie razor subscription.
Moisture Meter . Ok completely practical gift but if Mom loves to garden or is a plant lady these meters are super handy to tell when a plant needs a little extra water or is being over watered. I am going to buy this for myself due to the fact that I tend to over water and murder my plants.
Garden Kneeler. . And this is such a pretty garden kneeler if Mom could use some new gardening supplies- add the moisture meter or this Tool Kit with Apron or really lovely hand lotions like this to finish it off.
Gaiam Yoga Mat. If you have a Mom that is missing the gym or might be interested in working out a bit more at home, this yoga mat is super handy for core work, yoga classes, strength training and more. I use my mat for HIIT workouts and yoga and my older daughter steals it for rolling out her muscles after soccer practice, my little girl grabbed it just last night for a Zoom fitness workout with her softball team…
Resistance Bands . And since you can’t get weights anymore these resistance bands are a great option for strength and toning. There are tons of free classes online- I signed up for the 90 days of free classes from Peloton and have been doing them almost daily.
Diffuser. So many people are into essential oils these days- getting Mom a beautiful new diffuser might be a perfect gift. I love the colors of this diffuser but I was also looking at getting this diffuser for kids for my older daughter that sleeps with lavender every night. Here is another option that is currently out of stock for me but might be available in other areas. I really like that this one appears to be cord free. I absolutely hate the cords for my current diffuser and this one can easily move from room to room or even outdoors (think Citronella in summer)…
Air Fryer. We don’t have an air fryer but I have tons of friends that love theirs. Everyone is cooking so much more at home these days so why not look into one of these for Mom to make dinner a little healthier.
Hammock. Again we are staying at home more and maybe Mom actually has time to go into the yard for a bit and read a book. Our schedule is still pretty full with working at home and cooking 400 meals a day and home schooling but I have been sneaking out into the backyard for a few minutes here and there to just have a little peace and quiet. Maybe include one of Mom’s favorite books or the journal mentioned above or even a really cute sun hat like this to go along with a hammock.
I hope some of these ideas inspire you to create a lovely gift for Mom.

400 meals, oh so true! I am wondering how mom’s are finding time to do all these amazing things, while I’m over here cooking & cleaning on repeat! Lol!

I’m with you Rachael. :). We had quesadillas for dinner if that makes you feel better and I was delighted I actually ran today and did a 20 min yoga video. That is about all I checked off the to do list. You are doing great!
