This smoothie is so darn good. It is one of our favorites at Jamba Juice and it is so easy to make right at home. I get this Peanut Butter Moo’d frequently for my girls after a tough day of practice or games- while it isn’t the healthiest option for sure it has peanut butter for protein, chocolate milk for muscle recovery, bananas for magnesium and potassium and they will drink this right up without a single complaint. Plus its just really good. We rarely visit Jamba Juice anymore- it is just so darn expensive! Just one of these small smoothies is almost $7 – so I watched a few times and I think I figured out how to make them at home for a fraction of the price.
Give this a shot when you really want something chocolatey, peanut buttery, creamy and cold.
Here is the simple recipe I make for my kiddos and for the adults or those that are more calorie conscious, I have a lighter version you can also try.
- 1 cup Frozen Yogurt
- 1 cup chocolate milk
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1 frozen banana
- Place all ingredients in blender and blender until smooth and creamy.
You can for sure modify this recipe a bit. I have found this one to be slightly more chocolatey than the Jamba Juice version- I think Jamba Juice uses more fro-yo. I am generous with the peanut butter and both of my children are not fans of bananas (sigh…) so I sometimes reduce to half a frozen banana for a slightly less pronounced flavor. If you are not a weird-o and do like bananas- go for the whole banana. It is so good with the pb and chocolate!
If you want to cut back on the calories, you can definitely omit the fro-yo and use half chocolate milk and half regular milk or a milk alternative of your choice. Plus 1 cup ice to get the creamy and thick consistency. Yum!
If you decide to give this recipe a shot, please come back and let me know what you think! It is a good one to save for your little athletes as the weather warms up. Super filling for sure.

Hello Charlene and thank you so much for this wonderful recipe! I made this smoothie for my family a few days ago. I wanted to make it because this is my wife’s favorite drink at Jamba Juice. My wife’s eyes went wide and she said she really loved it. In fact, I am making it again for her yesterday. My daughter, who doesn’t even like peanut butter, liked it, and so did my son. I loved this smoothie too!

So happy to hear that Michael! Thank you for the comment!

Hi I want to try this but I am not familiar with “frozen yogurt”. Can you recommend a brand?
Charlene says
Hi Leash- there are lots of brands that make it. It is just supposed to be a lower calorie option- here are a bunch of options from Walmart:
