Since Mother’s Day is just around the corner, I thought I’d post a very cute and simple little craft that is perfect for children. This little paper tulip card would be such a sweet Mother’s Day gift or Teacher Appreciation idea or a card to send to Grandma… any opportunity for your child to send a note to a special person.
My 11 year old absolutely loves art so she was all over this craft, making flowers in every color of the rainbow. My 8 year old on the other hand, isn’t super into art and always feels like her drawings aren’t as good as big sister’s so this was also perfect for her.
You just need a few supplies-
- Colorful paper (or patterned paper)
- Glue
- Scissors
- Free printable flower template (click here to download and print)
Cut out the petals according to the template.
Fold flowers in half.
Apply glue on one of the halves of the petal, dab glue to another petal and glue another half on it. Continue to add the remaining petals- there are four in total.
Cut out the stem and leaves for the flower.
Glue the stem to the background paper and place the flower on top of the stem and lightly glue to secure in place.
Dab a little glue on the back of the leaves and adhere to paper— a pro tip to give the leaves a little more dimension is to roll them gently so they have a slight 3D effect.
Done!
Here is your final result:
