It is almost that time— Easter Basket time! I just love all that Easter (and Spring for that matter) represents and putting together Easter baskets is always a highlight for me. We try not to indulge too much in candy/treats and I try not to go crazy with expensive items but I refuse to waste money on junk too. I’d rather spend a little more and get something special that will be used over and over again than cheap stuff that will go in the trash.
And guess what? A lot of what I pop into Easter baskets I would have purchased for the kiddos anyway… swim goggles, sunnies, art supplies etc… so why not get super cute versions that the kids will love.
Here are a few fun things that I am looking at this year for my little girls. I hope these ideas inspire you as well!
Please leave a comment below and let me know if you might be interested in a similar post geared toward the boys!
Lindt Chocolates – so many cute options here! I always get the sheep ones for my big girl and the lady bugs for my baby girl. The little ducklings are incredibly cute too though.
Thinking Putty (or unicorn poop version here)- my big girl has been asking for magnetic putty and this is the cheapest I have found. Thinking the metallic version for little sister.
Sunnies- I already picked these up for my big girl and they are really cute. She loves them.
Bunny Bath Bomb (or Slime one here)- My little girl is super into bath bombs and fizzies and these are really cute options.
Printed Flip Flops (or charm ones here- so cute!)- I saw these recently at Old Navy and they are so cute in person. I had a terrible time choosing a pair but the rainbow ones won out for my little and the cactus for my big.
Mother Daughter Journal (or a really cute one here)- we have a Mother Daughter journal and it is a sweet keepsake and a great way to have special bonding time with your girl. No reason at all Daddy or Grandma can’t use one of these too!
Scented Crayons (or ink pens here) – it is probably time to refresh some school supplies anyway so why not get some really cute ones.
Burt’s Bees Lip Balms – Burt’s happens to be the only lip balm I use and I love these rainbow packs. For bigger girls there are colored lip balms and shimmer balms that might be fun too.
Cupcake Toothpaste (or try the bacon flavor!)- ok this is crazy but I saw it recently and thought what a crazy and silly thing that my little girl especially would really get a kick out of.
Fingerprints Art set – these are cute, simple, almost mess free little kits that you can take on the go or we use this exact kit when writing letters and notes to friends. Really cute way to customize stationery.
Jellycat Plush – we certainly don’t need any more stuffed animals but I always feel like an Easter basket is so much cuter with a bunny sticking out. How about a lamb this year for something different or check out a bunch of other options. Jellycat animals are reasonably priced, incredibly soft and so sweet.
Trucker hat– my little girl wears trucker hats a lot in summer and they are so darn cute. Perfect for road trips and beach/pool days. Bonus, turn this upside down and use it as the Easter basket.
And if you are looking for cute Easter PJs, I found a few that I loved:
Bunny PJs // Butterfly Pajamas // Some Bunny Loves You
And a few Easter basket ideas:
Llama Basket // Seersucker Tote // Burlap Basket
And if you want more basket ideas here is a list more geared toward boys. Obviously lots of these ideas overlap and are simply kid-friendly so hopefully there is something for everyone.

What about ideas for boys? There always seem to be a million cute options for girls – and well into their older years even. Once my little boy hit 6, all of the available options either looked too childish or too grown up. He’s not a tween yet, for goodness sakes! Cute little boy stuff and ideas are severely lacking.

Hi Carrie,
I saw a bunch of fun things for boys so I will work on that post. It is super frustrating for girls that move out of the toddler stage too. Target and Old Navy etc… make such cute and trendy things for toddler girls and then the big girl section leaves a lot to be desired. I agree completely. They are not tweens yet so let them be little.
