Are you right in the middle of Christmas shopping and baking and planning and fa la la-ing? We certainly are! I love this time of year! The magic, the energy, the excitement. Our schedule tends to get a bit crazy and it is easy to let the little things fall through the cracks. Don’t let stocking up on batteries be the thing you forget this year.
If Santa plans to bring some toys to your house this year, you might want to stock up on batteries now. As a parent that has planned and shopped and lovingly wrapped gifts for my little ones, only to discover on Christmas morning that we forgot the batteries, well… I will never repeat that mistake again.

We have a few cute toys under the tree this year but I also wanted to mention another product I picked out at Walmart to brighten up the holidays.
I absolutely love twinkle lights- especially battery operated lights that don’t require outlets and cords running everywhere. But Walmart has really stepped up the Twinkle light game this year by offering these battery operated lights that have a six hour timer! Awesome! Perfect way to keep your Christmas decor glowing in the evening and then off it goes at bedtime to save battery life.
I have a dwarf Christmas tree this year and I knew these lights would be perfect. I wanted to dress it up a bit more, so I cut small strips of red checked ribbon and tied that in simple knots on the string of lights. I carefully hot glued jingle bells onto the ribbon after it was knotted (not on the actual light string).
Five minutes later the project was done and I have an adorable string of lights for my mini Christmas tree.
How cute is this?
And those battery packs simply tuck right into the back. Slide the switch when you want them to be on and they automatically turn off 6 hours later.
Look how pretty the twinkle is at night! (Note: I used two packs of lights for this tree.)
And if you aren’t into the mini tree this year, this strand of lights is pretty anywhere in the house. I put some scented pinecones in a copper dish and added this string of lights and all the sudden it is a pretty centerpiece.
Please note you want to take care using twinkle lights. If you are not comfortable adding ribbon to your lights, you can simply wrap the lights around your tree and hand tie scraps of ribbon onto the branches and hot glue the bells onto the ribbon bows. Or you can create a jingle bell garland by following the tutorial here.)
Don’t forget the grab your batteries this year!

Are these indoor/outdoor lights? (Can they handle snow/rain?) Thanks! They look very cute!

Hi Diane, look for indoor or outdoor depending on your needs. I live in CA so our winter is pretty mild and mine is on a covered porch. The price was $3.88 so might be worth taking a chance on them 😉
