You can get a nice deal on Summer Bridge workbooks right now. I pick these workbooks up every summer for my girls. They are filled with all sorts of activities and games that are designed to keep them engaged and learning during summer vacation.
I have one child that I have to fight with to get her to do her workbook and another child that will happily sit and mark away on the pages no problem at all.
In our house there is a Back to School fairy and an End of School fairy that comes and brings a fun little surprise for the kids. Typically at the start of the year they get cute water bottles and extra special school supplies.
