Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
As always, it’s best to confirm with your local store before you make a special trip.
Lakeshore Learning: Kids will get to make a Storybook Cottage on June 27th. Stop by from 11am-3pm.
Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities. Check your local store to confirm and verify time.
Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more. These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location. You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.
REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults. I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.
The selection and dates/times vary by location but you can check to see what your store is offering here.
Michaels: Stop by on June 27th to make a Pie Tic Tac Toe Game. Just $2 per child for 30 minutes of craft fun, including supplies. Ages 3 and up.
They also have a weekly Passport to Imagination Program for children during the summer. Classes are $5 and offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Williams-Sonoma: The event this week is a special American Girl event. Please note while typically these classes are free, this week’s event is $30 per child! The event will feature a hands on baking class inspired by Grace, the 2015 Girl of the Year. Each student will learn Grace’s favorite French Madeleine recipe, then finish the pastries with dark chocolate, white chocolate, and a few other toppings. They will also make and decorate sugar cookies from scratch. Each child will take home a special American Girl® goodie bag! Suitable for ages 8–12 and they do note you need to call your local Williams-Sonoma store to sign up. Class size is limited to 12 students.
Lego Store: Just a heads up that Lego Stores now allow online reservation for the monthly build. I will remind you once it gets closer for August but July is already full!
Lowes: The next Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic will be held on June 27th. Children can make Captain America Motorcycle at 10:00 am. You must register before you attend. The kids should get an apron, all the supplies for the clinic and a few other goodies.
If you live near an American Girl Store, you might check out their events. Times and dates vary.
