So I have been posting all the Target deals each day- just to recap Target will be offering 50% off one toy per day via a Cartwheel coupon through 12/24. If you are not familiar with Cartwheel, you can find a ton of information right here.
You do need to shop in store and most likely you want to hit the store early so you don’t find empty shelves. If any of these items are on your gift list this year, I strongly recommend buying them now at these prices.
In addition to the 50% off Cartwheel coupon, if you have the Target toy book, there is an extra 25% off coupon that you can stack for a crazy good deal. Note the 25% off coupon expires Saturday.
Here are the projected items on the schedule for the next few days. I can not guarantee these will be the items until Target actually releases the coupons each morning. But I wanted to give you some advance notice so you can plan ahead- just be sure to double check in the morning in case I blew it 😉
*Please note before you get too excited that most stores seem to have VERY little inventory on these items. Really disappointing but please keep that in mind before you make arrangements to shop- you might find empty shelves. I think if I really wanted one of these toys, I might call my store just before close the night before and ask for the toy department and then ask someone to actually see if they have any of the items available. I would plan to get to the store very first thing if they did confirm that there is stock on hand. If they are already out of stock on the item the night before, they most likely won’t have any available the day the coupon is released.

Sunday November 9th: Hot Wheels Turbo Takeover $34.99– projected price. Use 50% off Cartwheel $17.49.

Ive gone everyday at 12 and everyday they have been sold out. Very frustrating..
David- yes I would either get there first thing or you can always buy it online to pick up in store. You’d pay full price and then need to return it and use the coupons so a little work. Otherwise you can also use the Target app and enter the item and it will tell you what stores have inventory and even where the item is located in store.

What was said above about looking the item up online and seeing the stock sounded good. I just tried the pokemon and the hot wheels track. Both say “not carried in stores”. That’s a little discouraging. Does anyone know if a stores are required to have a certain number or anything? Kind of crummy if deals are running and the store doesn’t even stock the items.

Where do you get the toy catalog? Past years they have been displayed on ends caps in the toy department but haven’t seen them and haven’t heard of anyone here who has received it in the mail.
I was third in the door at my store this morning, but the second person to the toy section at 8am and that lady got the last Minnie. I did however score a Monster High doll with my 10% of cartwheel plus my 25% toy coupon, .5 off for using my own bag and 5% off for using my red card, so $24.99 toy for $12.57!
I wasn’t sure if you could use the cartwheel app for online purchases – can you?

David – I would call the store right when it opens and ask them to hold the item for you. Most stores if you order it online and do store pickup, the item can’t be returned immediately because it may take the system a few hours to recognize the purchase.
Actually target isn’t letting us return the product of the day to use cartwheel they know the cartwheel deals for leaked and caught on to what everyone was doing so that put a stop to buying the item early and returning it the day of the 50% off deal
Lizzie- hmm… I suggested buying online to pick up in store the same day of the cartwheel. I think maybe your store had some issues but as far as I know, Target hasn’t added that clause to any sort of policy so it will probably depend on the store. I don’t think I would recommend buying the item ahead of time and coming back several days later to return it and rebuy. Your store might have had some abuse and decided to crack down- sometimes people get a little carried away with a good deal and buy out the entire store days ahead of time and they have to put policies in place to prevent that.

Hi Denise- they have had a few Cartwheel coupons that can be used online but in this case no you can’t. They only give these huge discounts if they can get you into the store to tempt you to spend more money 😉
Isn’t that just ridiculous? 3rd person in the door and you missed it! Really shame on Target for not providing a reasonable amount of inventory. Glad you found a deal though Katie!
Debbie- you are right they have been in the toy department or online in the past but this year they seem to be stingier. Maybe because of the 25% off coupon. Mine was in last Sunday’s newspaper.
Hi Jane, if there is a printable version available I always link to it. In this case I am not aware of any means to get the coupon other then in a catalog. In the past Target has been very generous with the toy books but not this year.
Lynne, you can call your store first thing and ask. Usually they won’t hold items for customers but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Just because the website says not carried in store doesn’t mean it won’t be in store. You actually have to go and look. As far as the Pokemon, it might not be that exact one but one that is similar. Unfortunately I can’t control inventory and I can’t make any guarantees about stock. The point of the post was just to try and help people by giving them a head’s up that a deal MIGHT come up so you can plan accordingly.

I was at the store first thing this morning for the Minnie and they did not have any on the shelf. I was very upset and have complained to just about everybody I could complain to and all they say is sorry. They don’t care if the item is in stock when they open. Its crap!
Hi Ashley- very frustrating. My friend just mentioned her store is already almost out of the Our Generation dolls that are supposed to be on sale Saturday. I know I checked those Minnie dolls at my store I think Monday or maybe Tuesday and there were about 6 of them. I just can’t believe Target is promoting these coupons and then has such a ridiculous amount of stock. Did you complain on facebook too?
They wouldn’t let me use the 25% coupon on top of the Cartwheel 50% off. =(
Hi Alana- you can stack store coupons on top of Cartwheel. Did you try customer service? You can also post a message on the Target Facebook wall and sometimes they will help.
As someone who works for target we are not given a heads up as to which items are going to be on cartwheel so stock in stores may not be sufficient do to us not being aware. And the cartwheel app does say limited quantities available.
Hi Chasity- yes that is completely fair. I think the deals were leaked and that is what seems to have caused the problem :(. I wasn’t sure if I should post or not – it is a tough situation. We do have until Christmas Eve though so maybe Target will have a better handle on this next week 🙂

There’s an app called shopular i searched Target and was able to get the 25% coupon to come up on my phone, worked just fine with the 50% cartwheel for the pound puppy 🙂
Our Target was out of the Minnie doll this morning. We asked an employee about it and they said because they were out of stock they were willing to give 50% off any toy around the same price!! I got a Fur Real Friend for the discount plus the 25% off coupon! Always ask an employee for help 🙂
I work for Target and spoke to my ETL this morning about the cartwheel promotions and it being out of stock before the store even opens. He said they are allowed to do substitutions. I didn’t get the full details because I was on my way out. I Don’t think it would hurt to ask.
Went to Target today for the Minnie Doll. They gave me a rain check for the doll at the sales price and a 25% off coupon. Not quite as good of a deal, but will still save me money when it comes in. They were very nice.

If you download the app called Shopkick you can also get the 25% off coupon. That’s how I got mine. My question is can this be used on a video game console? Under the toy section online there is a sub category for kids electronics and the xbox one and ps4 are both listed. Would be nice if it was!

As a employee we have found that many people are trying to come in and hide the upcoming Cartwheel toys.You also will not be able to order on-line then use Cartwheel by returning item stores have been instructed not to alloew this.
Tried 5 of the closest stores, and none had the Minnie stocked at all, very discouraged!
If you download the Target Wish List app you can save 10% on the things added to your list. You can add the 25% off coupon to that as well. The shopular app has the 25% off toy coupon that is good through tomorrow. You can actually use it 4 times a day. Happy shopping!
