Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
Disney Store: Kids ages 3 and up are invited to Summer Play Days at Disney Store. Store events include Art of Animation, Trivia, Story Time and Showtime. Stop by every week and receive a free character button. Events take place every day through September 1st. See a Cast Member for event schedule and details at your local store.
This week’s button giveaway includes Sleeping Beauty.
Lakeshore Learning: Kids will create a Silly Face Magnetic Note Holder on August 23rd. Stop by from 11am-3pm.
Michaels: Kid’s Club Event: Make a Personalized Chalkboard Wood Plaque on August 23rd from 10am to noon.
Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities.
Some stores will feature Hometown Hero Storytime. There will be crafts and more. These promotions can vary tremendously from store to store.
American Girl Event on August 21st. There will be themed crafts and more. Check your local store for times.
Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more. These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location. You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.
Kids Bowl Free: Just register and get 2 free games everyday in summer!
REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults. I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.
The selection and dates/times vary by location but you can check to see what your store is offering here.
Williams-Sonoma: Junior Chef Class on August 23rd at 10am. Kids will learn how to make panini sandwiches. Ages 9-13.
You must register before you attend. The kids should get an apron, all the supplies for the clinic and a few other goodies.
If you live near an American Girl Store, you might check out their events. Times and dates vary.
