Hello fall! I am ready for you and I don’t like to complain but it is still 150° in Sacramento. That makes it hard to think about Apple Cider and Hay Rides quite yet.
I will be ready when you are though!
Anyway, fall is my favorite season and there are so many great deals for the the month of September. This is an interesting month because retailers jump right in to holiday decor- Halloween candy and costumes are out at most stores and the craft stores already have Christmas decorations available.
It is also the end of summer and we start the month with Labor Day sales so you will see a last hurrah for grilling items, ice cream, cold drinks, sunscreen, bug sprays, camping gear etc…
We will see clearance on Back to School products and supplies- although I find the selection is fairly picked over. The fall clothing sales will start as retailers start bringing in winter items. You should see deep discounts on any remaining summer items.
Other notable events include National Organic Month so lots of organic items on sale and coupons. (Costco has a month long organic coupon book in my area and usually Target steps up to the plate with nice deals).
This is also Hispanic Heritage Month so some good deals on yummy Hispanic foods AND those of you with babies will be happy to note that September brings a lot of sales on baby items. Target is usually a big one for sales on gear and other supplies.
We will see lots of stores clearing out the last of the summer home goods and starting clearance sales on fall stuff. They will be moving into winter items so look for great discounts on dishes, towels, curtains and other home accessories.
Last but not least is the fresh produce on sale this month. We will see pomegranate, squash, grapes, apples, pumpkin, artichokes, spinach and more on sale this month.
This is a great time to make an easy crockpot applesauce! Pop it in the Crock and then portion it out for lunchbox treats!
