I have posted this before but considering all the great deals on Strawberries I have been seeing lately, I wanted to mention it again.
There is a very quick way to handle strawberries that will ensure they stay fresh a little longer.
You can head over here to see how to keep those strawberries fresh longer.
And just a reminder that strawberries are #2 on the Dirty Dozen list for produce. If you can possibly buy organic- this is one of those items that is worth the extra money. I get 2lbs of strawberries at Costco for $5.49.
If you don’t get the organic strawberries you might consider an extra minute of washing them to get as much residue off as possible.
And if you want some ideas on what to do with your strawberries, here is a 5 minute freezer jam recipe.
Or you might try this super easy homemade whipped cream recipe. I have this in the fridge all the time now for little treats and it is delicious on top of fresh berries.

Charlene- You wrote that we HAD to try your whipped cream recipe and oh-my-goodness, it was the greatest I have ever had! I took some to my pre-schoolers snack day and everyone there loved it too. Now they al think I am a genius in the kitchen (little do they know ;)) The recipe was so simple but it should come with a warning that you might not want to share it. Thanks for letting us in on this.

Wow thanks for the feedback Erica- I am so glad you liked it! Funny how normal whipped cream sort of tastes waxy to me now 🙂 I was thinking it was a perfect treat for little ones too. They get those giant cupcakes or cookies or donuts for class birthdays and I know my kids would love fresh berries and whipped cream instead.
