Well I mentioned the great Heinz vinegar coupon yesterday and many of you can stock up on vinegar for free this week.
This is an incredibly diverse product and it is a great all natural cleaner for tons of different things. Here are a few of my favorite uses for vinegar:
Keep Strawberries Fresh Longer:
Mix 1 part vinegar with 10 parts water. Soak the strawberries and then put them on a dish towel or in a colander to dry completely.
Place in a bowl and pop in the fridge. The vinegar flavor will not be on your berries so no need to rinse.
Cleaning Bathtub Toys or Pool Toys:
Mix a gallon of warm water with 1/2 cup vinegar and soak for about 10-20 min. Let dry.
How to Clean a Yoga Mat:
Completely random thing but I just did this over the weekend. You can actually wash many mats in the washing machine and let air dry (I would check the web site of your manufacturer) but to keep it fresh after each use, add a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water to a spray bottle. You can also add an essential oil if you like- lemon, peppermint, lavender or tea tree would be great. Spritz after each use.
How to Unclog a Drain:
Pour 1/2 cup baking soda with 1 cup vinegar right down the drain. This will fizz a little so once that is over flush with hot water. Wait about 5-10 min and rinse with cold water. This will also help to get rid of any odors.
DIY and Nontoxic Weed Killer:
Add vinegar to a spray bottle and spritz away for an all natural weed killer! This will vary according to the region you live in so you can also add 1/2 cup of salt and a few squeezes of dish soap to the spray bottle for more tenacious weeds.
I buy vinegar in bulk usually at Costco because it really is incredibly handy to have on hand.

I agree completely (love the strawberry tip!) and would add that vinegar is fantastic as an overall cleaner. I keep a spray bottle full of half vinegar and half water and use it to clean the bathroom between full cleanings, carpet spots, countertops, furniture, really anything that dosen’t require a heavier duty cleaner.

Agree w/ Amelia–and I buy my vinegar in the 2 jugs @ Costco for very cheap. It also works as a fabric softener in the washer….esp if you line dry.

I love your site and all your great ideas and deals that you find. Vinegar is one item I live by daily. I use in dishwasher rinse compartment to prevent spotting on dishes since I have hard well water and it also cleans your dishwasher and washing machine during rinse cycle. Great for sunburns also.
Keep the deals coming.
I have just stopped going to FB I just do not have the time to go through all that is posted. If someone wants me to see something or send a message they have my home e-mail.
Have a blessed day.
