Walgreens is the latest store to launch a new mobile coupon feature. They are offering an app for Android or iPhone users that had a handful of features.
The most notable is that starting Black Friday, they will have coupons available from .50-$5.00 in value. You can download the app for free and starting Friday we should see what kind of coupons these will be.
The coupons will work just like at Target- you just show your phone and the cashier can scan the coupon. I am assuming these will be single use coupons and all stores nationwide should accept them.
I found one other interesting feature and that is determining stock and inventory status from your phone! You can scan a barcode or enter the barcode number and it should tell you the availability. I tried with a few random products to test this and it says unavailable for now. That could work out to be a cool thing if it is really up to date.
You can read the press release for the new Walgreens mobile coupons here and you can get the apps here.

Yikes! Cashiers have a hard enough handling coupons most of the time, now they are going to start this on BLACK FRIDAY? Eek. Hope they’ve had lots of training.

LOL I agree Melanie. I wonder why they decided of all days to “try” this out…on black friday? I will be searching for this app!
