Walgreens Friends and Family Coupon + Deal Ideas

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

There is a Walgreens Friends and Family coupon available that is valid for tomorrow (3/31) only.  This coupon takes 15% off your in store purchase or 20% off Walgreens and W Brand items.  Before you get too excited this one does exclude diapers, baby formula, electronics and contacts.

The only trick to this coupon is that you must check out at the beauty counter or the photo counter. If you try to check out at the main cash registers you will not be able to use the coupon.

You can either print the coupon or you can text: SPRING to 21525 to get it on your phone (text rates will apply).

If you decide to go for any Register Rewards that require a minimum purchase amount- for example spend $5 and get $2 RR- you will want to factor in the amount AFTER the 15% has been applied.

Here are a few sample scenarios to get you thinking- the prices listed are AFTER the 15% discount is applied. See the rest of this week’s Walgreens coupon matchups here.

if you havent done walgreens rebate this would be great on diapers
    6* $5.99 pack of diaper = $35.94
    less 20% = – $7.18
less $2 per pack wags coupon = -$12
    rebate = -$10
net total = $6.76 for 6 packs of diapers ($1.12 per pack)

energizer hearing aid batteries are $5 per 8pack
    less 15% = -$0.75
less coupon from energizer.com (any hearing aid batteries ) = -$3
net total = #1.25 per 8pack is awesome price. (8pack hearing aid batteris is regulary $10.99)

@Tereza – diapers are excluded from the coupon

I think the 1 lb. Domino sugar makes a good deal:
    $0.79 with in-ad coupon
    -15% = $0.67
    buy 2 = $1.34
    use $0.75/2 MQ
    Final price – $0.59 for 2

Jennifer you can read the coupon policy for Walgreens here:

    http://myfrugaladventures.com/2010/08/new-walgreens-coupon-policy/

If you take 15% off of $2.99 the total is $2.55. Use two coupons and pay .55 for both.

Does the Friends & Family coupon count towards the coupon/items purchased ratio? Meaning do I have to pick up a filler in order to use this coupon? Thanks.

    03/30/2011 at 10:18 PM

W yes, it counts toward your coupon/items purchased ratio-you will potentially need a filler.

Diaper exclusion for online purchases only. Teresa your scenario should work instore 🙂

Booo, domino sugar and neste-cafe are regional coupons for me!!

Diapers are only excluded online. My coupon has nothing in the small print about diapers. It was in the email but it said online.

I just printed my coupons for use in-store — it printed a pane of four — and they clearly state diapers are excluded. I wouldn’t expect them to vary by region, but maybe?

I just got back from Walgreens where I used the discount on Tangled!!! The total was 15.29 plus tax and although the store was out of Color Wonders, the manager substituted a Toy Story Color Explosion pack. I also got 8 boxes of Nescafe and 2 Skintimate shave gels. Thanks for the post!

Didn’t mention $1.50 coupon every time you buy 4 Nescafe plus $4 catalina (:

I just used mine today and used it on diapers. It automatically took it off. I also used it at the regular register not the beauty one since there was no one there. I had to buy mouthwash anyway, so I bought their W brand and bought the rest of the 25 to qualify for the rebate in diapers. I didn’t have the baby coupon to make them even cheaper, but this still worked out ok for me. I got 6 packages of diapers and 2 things of mouthwash for 28, then I will get 10 back.

I used at regular resister just fine. Only catch was cashier said I needed to give coupon before ringing so she had to re ring my order. 15 percent came off everything, including resister reward deals and they still printed.

I used mine today on the Chinet plates and diapers… i only bought 5 packs because i didn’t think it would work on the diapers, and the managers just adjusted one of them to regular price so i was just above $25 and the rebate form printed… they also had a ton of stuff on clearance at my store (RAID Ant killer was only $1.80!)
