{CLOSED} Giveaway: $100 Home Depot Gift Card

01/24/2011 By Charlene

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

I have pulled together several giveaways in honor of a big event around here.  It is the second birthday of My Frugal Adventures! It seems like MFA has been part of our lives forever- and as my husband refers to it (affectionately and sometimes not so affectionately) is our third child.

So no birthday is complete without presents of course so I wanted to kick off our little birthday party with an awesome giveaway courtesy of Home Depot!

Home Depot is launching a Renew and Redo sale at stores nationwide.  They are offering big discounts on products for the bathroom as well as in store experts and online tools to help you find the perfect products to complete your project.   The sale runs from 1/20-2/23 and features deep discounts on all sorts of items.

As some of you might know, we have been in the midst of never ending home renovation projects.  We originally intended to spruce up the kitchen a little.  Well we wound up with serious water damage in the kitchen, master bathroom and the kid’s bathroom that resulted in gutting all three rooms.  I am very happy to say that our final project (the master bath) just had the shower doors installed today and we have finally finished all three projects!  Needless to say, Home Depot has been a second home to us for the past several months!

Now that we have 2 gorgeous new bathrooms it makes our guest bathroom even more of an eyesore.  The original owners of our house made very… shall we say taste specific- choices for the house.  (Including lots of brass fixtures and oak cabinets!)  So our tiny guest bath is truly horrific with laminate wood floors, brass fixtures and gray marble.  It is really something else.

We are certainly not in the mood for another full scale renovation, but we decided to see how much we could do on a very small budget.

So here is a little peek at the current state of the guest bath. The room is dark and depressing and is sadly the only bathroom on the main floor of the house.  So it needs serious help for sure.   I am super excited to start shopping at Home Depot and see what we can do to fix up this bathroom on a tight budget.

We already started looking around last weekend and we found vanities starting at $99!

I am very happy to say that Home Depot has provided me with one $100 gift card to pass along to a lucky reader to help you get started on a little makeover of your own!

This giveaway will run through Sunday 30th and you have two chances to win.

ENTRY #1: Just leave a comment below telling me what items you would like to purchase for your bathroom!

BONUS: If you subscribe to MFA via email, follow on Twitter or like me on Facebook you get a bonus entry so be sure to leave a second comment letting me know!

I really need to get a complete new bathtub. I would love to get one of the tub-overlays, like bathfitter. Our tub is so old and stained that I can’t get it looking clean anymore.

We’re redoing two bathrooms here and this would be so handy to go toward the shower tile. Or to the faucets. Or the sinks. Or the toilets.

Your not going to believe this but as we speak my bathroom is torn apart, I would love to change the cabinet(which looks alot like the picture you have posted) or the ugly mirror lighting or the shower doors. We are putting tile down, and I just repainted but the toliet and the cabinet can’t go back in till the floor dries. I feel your pain!!

Oh my one thing for my bathroom?? How will I ever decide? Our 1 bathroom is very small so in all honesty I’d love some lumber and drywall to make it bigger!!! But if that doesn’t count I suppose some trim becasue we spruced it up when we bought our house and never finished the trim!!

  23. Laura W says

    01/25/2011 at 5:17 AM

I would start by replacing the lighting fixture as it is starting to rust from the shower steam, some new paint as well as new accessories to give it a new feel. Have had the same look for to long!

Thank you for all your hard work, makes shopping even more fun;)

To allow me to finally pick out a vanity. My 1950’s house has a 1950’s sink, just a sink, no storage. This would help me get a usable vanity in and maybe kick start my husband to finish the removal of the awful teal tiles and bring the bathroom into this century!

I am getting ready to lay down new flooring. Whoever originally did the floor in the bathroom didn’t seem to realize that one can cut around objects such as the toilet or vanity, instead of just leaving huge gaps in the flooring around them.

A gift card to Home Depot would be awesome!
Our entire downstairs bathroom needs to be gutted and rebuilt. The previous owner covered up the window with boards and silicone caulking, then covered that up with a stand up shower supported by cinder blocks! In the gap, he placed a white cabinet that he cut the bottom back portion out of to make room for the hot water pipes! It’s awful. We need to rip out the shower, tear down the walls, install a new window and all new fixtures. It’s going to be one expensive project!! And who knows what we’ll find when we start. Until then, we don’t have guests over because we’re too embarrased 🙁
