{CLOSED} Giveaway: $100 Home Depot Gift Card

01/24/2011 By Charlene

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.

I have pulled together several giveaways in honor of a big event around here.  It is the second birthday of My Frugal Adventures! It seems like MFA has been part of our lives forever- and as my husband refers to it (affectionately and sometimes not so affectionately) is our third child.

So no birthday is complete without presents of course so I wanted to kick off our little birthday party with an awesome giveaway courtesy of Home Depot!

Home Depot is launching a Renew and Redo sale at stores nationwide.  They are offering big discounts on products for the bathroom as well as in store experts and online tools to help you find the perfect products to complete your project.   The sale runs from 1/20-2/23 and features deep discounts on all sorts of items.

As some of you might know, we have been in the midst of never ending home renovation projects.  We originally intended to spruce up the kitchen a little.  Well we wound up with serious water damage in the kitchen, master bathroom and the kid’s bathroom that resulted in gutting all three rooms.  I am very happy to say that our final project (the master bath) just had the shower doors installed today and we have finally finished all three projects!  Needless to say, Home Depot has been a second home to us for the past several months!

Now that we have 2 gorgeous new bathrooms it makes our guest bathroom even more of an eyesore.  The original owners of our house made very… shall we say taste specific- choices for the house.  (Including lots of brass fixtures and oak cabinets!)  So our tiny guest bath is truly horrific with laminate wood floors, brass fixtures and gray marble.  It is really something else.

We are certainly not in the mood for another full scale renovation, but we decided to see how much we could do on a very small budget.

So here is a little peek at the current state of the guest bath. The room is dark and depressing and is sadly the only bathroom on the main floor of the house.  So it needs serious help for sure.   I am super excited to start shopping at Home Depot and see what we can do to fix up this bathroom on a tight budget.

We already started looking around last weekend and we found vanities starting at $99!

I am very happy to say that Home Depot has provided me with one $100 gift card to pass along to a lucky reader to help you get started on a little makeover of your own!

This giveaway will run through Sunday 30th and you have two chances to win.

ENTRY #1: Just leave a comment below telling me what items you would like to purchase for your bathroom!

BONUS: If you subscribe to MFA via email, follow on Twitter or like me on Facebook you get a bonus entry so be sure to leave a second comment letting me know!

*Please be sure to actually leave a comment below.  Any emails, Facebook messages or tweets will not be counted.  If you are viewing this in a reader just click through to the blog to leave your comment.

GOOD LUCK!

It’s funny you should ask! My husband and I are just about to wrap up a major renovation of our master bathroom, and I mean major! We gutted it down to the studs…looong process. Anyway, as soon as we wrap this one up, I would love to delve right into our downstairs bathroom renovation. It’s in desperate need. What better inspiration than a $100 Home Depot gift card?!?

Both of my bathrooms are stuck in the 70s… olive green and mustard yellow tubs and sinks. Yikes. But I haven’t couponed my way to a total redo for them yet, so my next bathroom wish is for new mirrored medicine cabinets. Never enough storage for a Frugal Adventurer! And thank you HOME DEPOT for honoring the $10 of $50 coupons Lowe’s receipts printed out last week!

  38. Kim says

    01/25/2011 at 11:27 AM

Boy, can I relate! The former owners of our house left us with some interesting decor choices as well! We only have ONE tiny bathroom in our entire house, so needless to say it gets a lot of traffic. It’s our master bathroom, our kids bathroom, and our guest bathroom all in one! We have desperately been wanting to spruce it up and make it more functional to better meet the needs of our family. I would love to replace the light fixtures as well as the bath tub and sink fixtures. We also desperately need a new tub…we still have the original tub from 1960 with rust eating through the finish and all. It’s just a matter of time before it’s unusable!!! I would also love to replace the tile floor as many of the tiles are cracked and popping out of the floor. Yikes! Love your website….it has literally changed our lives. Thank you!!
