I have a quick giveaway to get the holiday weekend started!  Be sure to check in tomorrow as well for another fun giveaway.

Today I have a $25 gift card for use at any of the Safeway Family of stores: Vons, Randalls, Dominicks, Genuardis, Carrs, Tom Thumb or Pavillon.

This is in honor of the “10% Goes Back to Schools” promotion running through 9/14.  When you purchase one of over 2,000 products that feature the image above in your store, 10% of the purchase price is donated by Safeway to a local school!

You can check your receipt each time you shop and your totals should be updated at the bottom.

Now I just checked a receipt I had on hand and I have spent $80 in participating items.  That means that I will be able to choose a school and Safeway will donate $8!  For coupon shoppers this is really amazing because I can assure you I did not spend $80- probably closer to $20.

    I shop at Dominick’s. Many of the sale match-ups do apply, but sometimes the prices are different. This week our Hidden Valley Ranch is B1G1 Free, not $1.99. Anyway, yes I do find your match-ups useful!

    I moved from Vons (So Cal) to Dominick’s (IL) in the last year. I did not read MFA before moving, so that’s a bummer… but I do read now. Some of the produce is not the same price (obvious reasons), but for the most part, the items are similar. However, Dominick’s doesn’t carry certain items like Totino’s pizza. I’ve seriously tried about 5 just to see if I could get that $5 off 5 + e-coupon deal. No such luck! Target in IL does, though!

    We have way more Super Targets here than in CA, also. It’s fantastic! I read and thanks so much for all your work!

    genaurdis. Yes, I love your matchups and always read them! Yes the sales and promos are similar but sometimes the prices are slightly different ( more expensive for me) and the sales on fruit are sometimes not the same (we’re consistently more expensive and sometimes the fruit here is NOT on sale when it is on sale at your location) But the matchups are still extremely useful and I appreciate your site so much!

I haven’t shopped there in awhile, but learning about the coupons I can add to my Safeway card and checking on the in-ad specials and coupons (as well as printing manufacturer’s coupons) has made me start shopping (and saving) there again.     I shop at Safeway in Reno-Sparks, Nevada for 9 months out of the year, and Vons in Las Vegas, Nevada for 3 months out of the year. The deals usually match up very well. The variations are few and far in between!
