This week most areas have a coupon in the Walgreens ad for $1.99 Scunci Hair Accessories. Reader Tarin let me know they are ringing up at Buy One Get One Free this week.
This is how her transaction worked out:
Buy 2 packs of Scunci at $3.49 each (One will be free)
Use in ad coupon- which took off $3.00 for her
Final Price: .49 for both packs!
Now two quick notes:
1. I have not tested this myself. The ad shows something about Buy One Get One Free on the product so this should be working.
2. Some areas have a short ad and got cheated out of this coupon- you might double check your ad before you head out- it was page 11 for me.
i was just there and forgot to check this !! shucks I need these !!
there was a huge sock and pantyhose clearance at my store (Carmichael, CA) !! both men and women’s dress and sport socks on clearance for super cheap prices.
also the i motion is 1/2 price at $7.99 (blecch) what a joke !! so if you have the $4 off Q it’s $3.99, not a deal in my book
but the 50 cent jello with in ad Q was a good price compared to Safeway, so got 4 of those.
I went today and got 2 packs of ponytail holders for .99 after the bogo sale and in store coupon. They were priced at 2.99 each originally. Thanks for the info!
Hi Charlene! This is working in Chicago. I purchased two packages, which rang up at $2.99/each. The Walgreens in-ad coupon deducted $2 total, and then the register proceeded to BOGO out one of the products, deducting the regular price of $2.99. My total for two packages was $1.06. Yes, I went back and repeated the transaction — flawless!
On a side note – I need help with cheap ‘filler’-type items. It is my understanding that you have to have as many items as you do coupons at Walgreens, and sometimes I have more coupons than I do items (obviously not for the scenario above). Are there any items under 50 cents that people regularly use as a ‘filler’? Please help! Thanks!
Cjs most people use candy or gum. There are .33 toffee candies by the registers.
I like to buy the single chips that are usually priced at 33 cents =) we like the doritos and easy to throw in my purse for a quick snack
Here in SoCal –
Lots of the Scunci hair accessories are BOGO this month at my store.
Bought 2 of the packs shown on the coupon (36 total in each pack, 2 18cts packed together)
My transaction:
Bought 2 at $2.99 BOGO (one was free)
$2 off from the in-ad coupon (same coupon as above)
grand total 99 cents for 72 hair ties!!!!!!!
Here in NY, this isn’t working unfortunately for most of scunci that is on the B1G1. The coupon only works here on the “value packs” and we only have one here (of combs not rubber bands).
I bought:
Scunci Barrettes $3.49
Scunci Hair bands $2.99
– bogo sale $2.99
– in ad coupon $1.00
Total: $2.49 for barrettes and rubber bands
It’s a better deal to get just the rubber bands but the barrettes are part of the sale as well. There were tags at my store that read ALL Scunci hair accessories were bogo.
Thanks for the ideas on the ‘fillers’…I saw the caramels by the registers at my store for 0.39 ea (or 3/$1). I’ll have to look for the chips next time.
