thomas the train tidmouth

The winner is:

Cindy says My grandson would love this toy and I need some big boy toys at my house now that he will be turning 2 in August. I enjoy quiet time in my sunroom in the morning with a good cup of coffee, but am now looking forward to spending some time on the porch at the lake this summer. Thanks for the opportunity.

I got a chance to check out a few new toys from the Fisher Price spring line and I am very happy that Fisher Price agreed to give one of each toy to you guys!  So I will have 4 giveaways over the next four days.  Then I have a few things for mom coming as well that you will love!

So the first is this Thomas the Train Take Along Tidmouth Shed.  As you guys know, Thomas is a very popular guy around our house so this was by far my little girl’s favorite toy.  Interestingly, my 1 year old is pretty taken with Thomas as well.

These take along toys are fun because they fold right up and have a little handle so your child can tote them very easily from place to place.  One of the things that I liked best about this toy is that it literally unfolds right out of the box- there is no assembly and no little pieces to get lost (or eaten!)

The Tidmouth Shed comes with one Thomas the Train- you can buy other take n play engine cars and they will all attach via magnet to each other.

This little track will also extend to the other Take n Play toys so you can make it as big as you like.  The retail value is $30 and it can be purchased from Fisher Price HERE.

You can see some of the other Take Along toys from Amazon HERE.

When we first opened Thomas I thought- uh oh.  This might be the only thing in our house that doesn’t light up or make noises so I was thinking it might not hold their attention for very long.  Wrong!  Both of my girls played with this for quite awhile and I have to say it was incredibly pleasant to have a little peace and quiet!

thomas the trainSo if you have a Thomas fan in your house, you can enter to win a Tidmouth Shed for your little one.

Just leave a comment below letting me know what you would do to enjoy a few minutes of quiet time in your house!  I was quite happy to make dinner in peace and quiet while the girls took Thomas out for a few spins.  I actually read a recipe all the way through and didn’t have to listen to whirling or ringing or singing songs the entire time which was just lovely.

I will select a winner on Saturday at 10am. If you are viewing this in a reader or email you need to click through to the blog to submit your comment.  I am very sorry but due to my personal time constraints any entries via Facebook, Twitter or email will not count.

GOOD LUCK!!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post in any way and all opinions expressed are my own.  We did receive a sample Thomas for review.

I would love a few minutes, of 15 (hahaha) to take a nice hot shower….without having to pull in my son’s high chair to the bathroom and listen to him whine wanting to get out. Oh, how nice that would be!

I have a 2 year old that loves Thomas! To get a few minutes of quiet time, I give him his favorite snack – cantalope and grapes. That holds him until his plate is empty. During that time I try to regroup and get my energy up for the next round of play. 🙂

I would love to get to have more time to get my coupons together while my Thomas-lover stays pleasantly engaged!

I would love a fews minutes of quiet so that I could reorganize my pantry. I keep my grandaughter and I find it very difficult to get this task done so stuff keeps falling on the ground when I open the door!

I would love to win this, my son would go nuts over this set. I would love to cook dinner in peace, it seems like every night thats when the kids get grumpy and start hanging onto my skirt.

I have 5 kids, 2 of which are 9 month old twins. Quiet time is rare in my house, but alone time with my husband is my preference or a nice hot bubble bat.

  8. Sara says

    04/29/2010 at 9:23 AM

Quiet? What is that? I would probably do the dishes without my 1 year old trying to climb into the dishwasher. If it lasted longer than that I would try to catch up on all my magazines that I never have time to read.

    04/29/2010 at 9:23 AM

I know EXACTLY what I would do with a few moments peace. I would get ALOT more packing done for our upcoming move. My hubby is in the Army and we are moving cross country and there is SO much left to do!

  10. Jasmine says

With some time to myself I would watch an episode of Six Feet Under because I am trying to get through season 2 and it is my current escape ;D

Love your site. I have 3 “stairstep” boys, 5, 3, and 1. When I get a second of pease (which isn’t often!!) I squeeze in school work, I’m working on getting becoming a NP so by the time they’re all in school, I’ll finally have normal hours at a clinic instead of working crazy 12 hour shifts as a nurse! They all love Thomas toys, we have quite a few of the little trains but no tracks or stations

I would learn how to use my new digital camera…it has been since Christmas that I got it and I still need to learn how to use the advanced features! Thanks for all you do!

With 3 kids under age 5 – one being a 2 month-old, the only time the house is quiet is when we are not in it. 🙂 Just dropped a bowl of alphabet soup on my feet, baby’s crying – Calgon take me away! My nephew would love this – he _only_ plays with Thomas. Thanks for your great work on this site!

Quiet time comes when my two kids are down for their naps, and if I am lucks asleep. This is when I love to sit down, take a deep breath and have my alone time, studying God’s word. My kids love Thomas!

  21. StephieD says

    04/29/2010 at 9:56 AM

My 5 year old LOVES Thomas! And I really hope our new baby will too. He can play with his take along trains for hours, which is great, because it gives me time to take care of our 3 month old! 🙂

  22. Hazel-Ann says

    04/29/2010 at 9:56 AM

A few extra minutes could definitely be spent taking care of my houseplants. They sure do need some attention right now.

  23. Jena says

    04/29/2010 at 9:56 AM

If I could find a moment of peace and quiet in my house, I would try to finish one of the many books I have started since becoming a mommy and have yet to finish. When did I become the lady who doesn’t read? I have no idea! Anyhow, both of my little ones, 2 and 4, are Thomas groupies. This would be such a fun toy for them! 🙂

  24. Shantel says

    04/29/2010 at 10:02 AM

I have a brand new grandson, so he’s not too noisey yet…but I can’t wait for him to be able to make noise! I’m sure I’ll want quiet then…

  25. Toni says

I would love some quiet time so I can get caught up on some tv programs instead of Dora, Thomas, Wonder Pets, Backyardigans, etc…

  28. francesca says

    04/29/2010 at 10:16 AM

I would do either of two things depending on my energy level 1) either take a nap or 2) clean the house LOL

This would be the perfect BDAY present for my soon to be 3 year old boy. With the free quiet time I would sit down and write up all of the adorable things he is saying and doing right now as well as to write him a letter, that he can read when he is older, about how thankful and blessed I am to have him as my little boy.

  33. Jami Lynn says

    04/29/2010 at 10:21 AM

What a cute lil’ giveaway! Both my lil’ ones LOVE trains. And if I had a few extra moments I would take it to sit down and learn how to use the sewing machine I was given. I want to desperately to learn – but when? lol

I have four kids all 5 years and under, I work every weekend 12 hour shifts and most nights my husband doesn’t get home until 10pm from work. So for starters with a moment of peace I would go to the bathroom by myself and then maybe a shower in peace!!!

  35. Kristy says

I would do anything to enjoy a few minutes of quiet time. I am not looking forward to when he doesn’t want to take naps. I hate the fact he cut out the morning nap. Anything that keeps him busy is AWESOME

  41. Amanda says

    04/29/2010 at 10:27 AM

My almost 2 year old (in May) would love this for his birthday! What I would give to have my son actually be in the same spot I left him when I got in the shower. That’s what I’d do with my quiet time, actually shower in the morning time!

  42. Amy says

My son goes to Easter Seals for therapy, and they have a train set in the lobby that he loves to play with. It would be GREAT to have one like this that he could play with at home.

  49. Kristi says

    04/29/2010 at 10:57 AM

With two year old twin boys, quiet time is very rare. If they actually were both playing quietly, I might be able to finish cleaning the kitchen without someone tugging on me for something.

    04/29/2010 at 10:59 AM

My little girl would love this which means mommy would too. With some quiet time I actually want to paint my bathroom, but I’m not sure Thomas can even buy me that much time.
