thomas the train tidmouth

The winner is:

Cindy says My grandson would love this toy and I need some big boy toys at my house now that he will be turning 2 in August. I enjoy quiet time in my sunroom in the morning with a good cup of coffee, but am now looking forward to spending some time on the porch at the lake this summer. Thanks for the opportunity.

I got a chance to check out a few new toys from the Fisher Price spring line and I am very happy that Fisher Price agreed to give one of each toy to you guys!  So I will have 4 giveaways over the next four days.  Then I have a few things for mom coming as well that you will love!

So the first is this Thomas the Train Take Along Tidmouth Shed.  As you guys know, Thomas is a very popular guy around our house so this was by far my little girl’s favorite toy.  Interestingly, my 1 year old is pretty taken with Thomas as well.

These take along toys are fun because they fold right up and have a little handle so your child can tote them very easily from place to place.  One of the things that I liked best about this toy is that it literally unfolds right out of the box- there is no assembly and no little pieces to get lost (or eaten!)

The Tidmouth Shed comes with one Thomas the Train- you can buy other take n play engine cars and they will all attach via magnet to each other.

This little track will also extend to the other Take n Play toys so you can make it as big as you like.  The retail value is $30 and it can be purchased from Fisher Price HERE.

You can see some of the other Take Along toys from Amazon HERE.

When we first opened Thomas I thought- uh oh.  This might be the only thing in our house that doesn’t light up or make noises so I was thinking it might not hold their attention for very long.  Wrong!  Both of my girls played with this for quite awhile and I have to say it was incredibly pleasant to have a little peace and quiet!

thomas the trainSo if you have a Thomas fan in your house, you can enter to win a Tidmouth Shed for your little one.

Just leave a comment below letting me know what you would do to enjoy a few minutes of quiet time in your house!  I was quite happy to make dinner in peace and quiet while the girls took Thomas out for a few spins.  I actually read a recipe all the way through and didn’t have to listen to whirling or ringing or singing songs the entire time which was just lovely.

I will select a winner on Saturday at 10am. If you are viewing this in a reader or email you need to click through to the blog to submit your comment.  I am very sorry but due to my personal time constraints any entries via Facebook, Twitter or email will not count.

GOOD LUCK!!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post in any way and all opinions expressed are my own.  We did receive a sample Thomas for review.

Quiet moments are few and far between, but my boys love building things with either blocks, train tracks, or legos. As long as a disagreement doesn’t break out about who gets what, I may be able to steal a moment or two to pick up. We love Thomas at our house too!

With some peace and quiet, I would read or get caught up on emails and blog-reading! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

This is a wonderful giveaway! I would love to have this for my boys-ages 3 and 1. The three things that I would love to have peace and quiet while doing something would be: using the bathroom (quiet usually equals trouble during this time), making dinner (for some reason this is the most hectic time at home as my 8 year old is asking questions for his homework and the little ones are stir crazy), and coupon planning (I am still fairly new at this and it can get frustrating along with juggling busy boys). Thank you for recommending this product. It’s hard to know which toys to spend your money…I’ve wasted plenty in the past!

I love your website and check it often. My son would enjoy this and it would be a great way to organize his Thomas the Tank Engine cars. Have a great day!

I would do just about anything for some peace and quiet in my house, even if only for a few minutes.
If I had some peace and quiet I would begin the scrapbook I have been putting off for the last couple years, or look up a new recipe and test it out, or even just have a nice warm snuggle on the couch with my hubby.

All my son’s toys make tons of noise. It would be nice to have a great Quiet Toy! I may get to actually read a book!

Wow! My son absolutely adores Thomas. He’s 2 and has a small collection of the wooden engines, cars, and track. This would be such a fun surprise for him.
For a quiet moment I let my son play outside while I make dinner. Last night he went out and rode his bike in the garage (the safest place!). I looked out the window to see that he had found the big broom and was sweeping the garage floor. When he came inside he wanted to vacuum (or voo as he says) the floors. I wonder if this will last? I’ll have a few more quiet moments if so!

My son just loves, loves, LOVES Thomas! and this is something he does not have and it would be great to take on trips to keep him happy!
What would *I* do for a few minutes of peace….just about anything! id love to just be able to take a nice long hot bath any time I feel like without having to wait until late at night when all the kids are in bed and all the housework has been done.

  11. Lisa says

    04/29/2010 at 6:26 AM

With 4 kids, our house is never quiet! I’ve been known to spend some quality time in the bathroom to get away from the chaos. 🙂

    04/29/2010 at 6:27 AM

Peace and quiet is hard to find at my house, but the easiest way to get it is to let my 2 kids play their DS. I only let them play at certain times, so they are always looking forward to it. I ask them to turn the sound down and they will play, without fighting, for about 20min at a time!

  13. Michelle says

This is wonderful! Ah – to be able to enjoy a few minutes of quiet time…I would love to be able to sit outside in the sun, sipping some cold, iced tea and reading a book while listening to the birds sing. Heaven.

I have a four year old daughter and a one year old son who LOVE Thomas! My husband lost his job a year ago so things are tight…and not to mention…I dont get any “quiet time” and we dont have any extra money, which is why i LOVE your blog! But if I did win..sad but true..if I could get them to play for even a couple of minutes..I would LOVE to go to the Bathroom BY myself! LOL….without an audience 🙂 Sad but true….

The quiet time in my house when I have my grandson is when he is playing with Thomas on his train table while watching a Thomas video. He just loves Thomas. He is in the hospital right now and the only toy he took with him is his Thomas trains. My daughter puts in a Thomas video which seems to help him stay still and lay in his bed while in the hospital. We can never have enough Thomas stuff around!!

  17. Christy says

This morning my two year old informed me that he is Thomas and I am Percy! He would love this. With some peace and quiet I’d have a nice long nap!

My boy would love this – we’ve been hunting for the big one and it’s too expensive but this might just soothe his love of the shed!

If I had more peace and quiet I would finish my daily chores in a more efficient manner. My two boys are big Thomas fans!

With a few moments of peace and quiet I think I might just try to read from a book without bright colors or pictures, lol. Since I read more children’s fiction than anything, I would love a few moments to read something different.

  22. Melissa says

I have 2 boys and they are both huge Thomas fans! We have been for a ride on Thomas when he comes to town. I love that they don’t light up or make noise because it encourages the kids to use their imagination. With a few minutes of quiet time, I would try to catch up on a good book! Thanks for the opportunity.

It is quit rare to find toy that is not making nasty sounds:-) If I had quit moment I would make my meal planning more efficient. AT the moment I plan meals only day or two ahead and most of time I am finding my self heading to shop for ingredience nearly every day. Eventhough I am stiking to my plan still spending way too much.
Charlene I like very much you vlog about planning grocery shopping. Hope I will make it right this weeks.
So quit moment for me would mean better planning for meals and making only one shopping trip a week.

I would love to be able to clip my coupons without having to get up a dozen times in search of some “missing” toy.

How awesome! My 15 month old also is a Thomas fan…and we also have a 4 month old daughter. With 2 kids under 2, dividing my time is important for me, so if a quiet toy could entertain Trey, it would give me more time with my sweet 4 month old, Arden Grace!

  30. Karen says

I could get alot of spring cleaning done and also perhaps entertain guests with a lovely dinner, possibly one of the $5 dollar Dinners.

I would love to have a Thomas the Train set for my granddaughter. We have a couple of the engines and cars now and she loves playing with them. My son is a Navy Reservist and a single dad, so when he is on active duty or training, we have our granddaughter alot. This sounds like something she could carry back and forth from Dad’s house to Mimi & Papa’s house too.

I have a 5 year old Thomas fan. I looked for this at my Target when they had a coupon for it right before Easter. Sadly, I could not find one, so the Easter bunny found some “talking engines” instead. I would love to begin reading again. It’s been sometime since I’ve been able to sit and read. I’ve been quite busy with my three children 10, 8 and 5.

To get a few moments of quiet around my house, I bust out the sheets and have the kids build a fortress/castle/clubhouse. They can hang out in those and build them for an hour at least!

  48. Rebecca Sturkie says

My son is almost two and he is already “in love” with Thomas. That is all he wants to watch and he has one small Thomas that he carries with him everywhere. If he had this, I know it would give me a chance to get housework done or maybe even sit down and read a book without interruption. It would be wonderful to have 15+ mins to myself.

I would love to be able to watch one episode of something on television without hitting the pause button. My child has NEVER been a good sleeper so the only hope of doing this is getting her involved in a toy or an activity. WOuldn’t that be nice?
