You can see Safeway’s coupon policy right HERE. Most stores will allow you to stack a manufacturer coupon with the store coupons that can be found in the weekly circulars. You will want to be sure to get a club card for Safeway to take advantage of the sale prices! Safeway sale prices tend to vary from region to region so you will always want to double check your local ad! Also, I do not have double coupons in my area so your prices are likely much better than mine!

NOTE: In ad coupons can be stacked at most stores with manufacturer coupons. They do require a minimum $10 pre coupon purchase!

Select stores are running a Kohl’s cash promotion.  Get $10 in credit to Kohl’s stores for every $50 you spend at Safeway.  Excludes dairy, postage stamps, gift cards, Safeway store coupons and sales tax.  If your store is participating I’d love to hear in the comments!  The promotion runs 3/22-4/3.

(You will want to check your local ad or check in stores to see if your area is participating!)

Be sure to check the complete list of catalina offers at Safeway stores HERE.

Did I miss any great deals? Let us know what you find!  I think everything listed is a good price but I highlighted my favorite deals with an asterisk!

There is also a cleaning products promotion- see the details HERE and the Frozen Foods promo continues!  See those details HERE.

My store is running the Kohl’s promotion but I was wondering if it was $50 before or after coupons?

  8. Kathleen says

    03/17/2010 at 8:32 AM

The Oscar Mayer hot dog catalina worked for me. I bought 4 pkgs. of hot dogs (had raincheck for .99 ea.) and got 2/$2 catilinas!

  9. Sara says

    03/17/2010 at 8:34 AM

Yay, our Safeways are participating in the Kohl’s promotion (last time they didn’t) in Santa Cruz, CA! This might be the week to go big (frozen food promo, spring clean promo, anything else??)!

  10. Charlene says

    03/17/2010 at 8:49 AM

    Awesome Kathleen- thanks for confirming!

  11. Charlene says

Grammy try 95677 and you don’t have to check every page. Just click on the drop down menu on the right side.

  12. Charlene says

    03/17/2010 at 8:51 AM

According to the ad is it after Safeway store coupons and theoretically it should be before MQ but for some reason I remember last time it was after coupons. I guess we have to wait and see what people report back.

  13. Charlene says

    03/17/2010 at 8:53 AM

I just double checked and the zip I had entered is 90001 for Farmer John. You should get the bacon and the sausage.

  14. Annette says

    03/17/2010 at 9:24 AM

My Safeway just started a new coupon policy- you’re only allowed two internet printed coupons for every item (so if you’re buying 3 boxes of Fruit Loops, you can’t use three internet coupons, you can only use two). They also can’t be doubled. This is new in the last couple days because I went in earlier in the week and didn’t have this happen. It wasn’t just a cashier telling me this, they had a policy on a clipboard and she consulted another employee to double check that she was stating it accurately since it’s new.

Is this regional or is this something nationwide? I live in Oregon.

  15. Alicja says

    03/17/2010 at 10:30 AM

I don’t know why stores are starting all these new rules. Do they not understand they make money off of our coupons? Boo!

  16. Jenna says

    03/17/2010 at 10:38 AM

Your prices are better than mine 🙁 I just thought I should whine about that for a second.

Annette, I wonder if they are implementing a new coupon policy because of the awesome deals we scored on the Buy 5, Save $5 deal? I haven’t noticed it at my store (MT) but I haven’t gone in since last Wednesday.

  17. Keri says

    03/17/2010 at 10:57 AM

My Vons has had this policy is place for over two months. I didn’t shop there prior, so I don’t know when it started. I’m in San Diego…they do it to limit the amount of fraudulent coupons. I haven’t had a problem with newspaper coupons.

  18. Charlene says

    03/17/2010 at 11:14 AM

Yuck. On one hand I am sorry they are having problems with fraudulent coupons but on the other hand to try and keep up with policies that are constantly changing and not in writing is going to be quite a challenge.

  19. Chrystal says

    03/17/2010 at 2:10 PM

I don’t have any Safeway’s around me but I found this coupon for a free tote, hopefully someone can use it.

    happy shopping

  20. Ryann says

    03/17/2010 at 2:22 PM

Safeway in Chico, CA is participating. Thanks Charlene! Looks like it’s going to be a great week at Safeway!

  21. Charlene says

    03/17/2010 at 3:40 PM

Hi Chrystal- Thank you for thinking of us but I did not post that coupon because it is fraudulent. I believe it went to someone in an email and they scanned it- so I don’t think it should be shared. Thanks anyway!

  22. Cheryl says

    03/17/2010 at 5:52 PM

When I read the Safeway coupon policy, it said, “We will not accept Printable Coupons for more than 50% of a product’s value.” Is this pre-sale price?
I wanted to use two $3/2 coupons for the Suave Deodorant (4/$1.25 each). What will they do if there is an overage like this?

  23. Charlene says

    03/17/2010 at 6:13 PM

Cheryl, You can ask your cashier to adjust the coupon down. The price before the instant discount is more than $1.50. I did make note of that policy in the original post so some stores will refuse the coupon. The vast majority of the stores do not have problems with higher value IPs. I would probably add these to the rest of your shopping just to make things easy rather than trying to go in and buy 4 of them and nothing else.

  24. Cheryl says

    03/17/2010 at 7:33 PM

    Thanks, Charlene! :0)

  25. Jill says

    03/18/2010 at 11:28 AM

Charlene, do you have coupon matchups for this week’s frozen food items? Or is it the same each week?

Has anyone found out if the $50 Kohl’s promotion is before or after manuf. coupons?

  26. Caitlin says

    03/18/2010 at 1:32 PM

It is after coupons. My bill was 90 and after Qs, it was 25. I got a $10 catalina for frozen food but no kohls cash 🙁

  27. Tiffany says

    03/21/2010 at 1:36 AM

I tried to do the 4 Suave deodorants but the cashier wouldn’t take all the coupons because they say one coupon per purchase.

  28. Stephanie M. says

    03/21/2010 at 10:46 AM

just wanted to let you know about the cool catalina I got last night. I purchased a half gallon of vanilla blue diamond almond milk (the refrigerated kind) on sale for $2.79 plus I had a $1 off coupon. Then I got a catalina for a FREE half gallon of Silk almond milk (up to $3.99 value)!!
