How Did Your Walgreens Trip Go Today?

Just curious since I am sick and hoping not to leave the house, how did everyone do at Walgreens today?

Did anyone head out to use the Friends and Family coupon?

Had a great trip! They only let you use the coupon once, so my savings wasn’t as much as I tried.. but it was still great – spent $13 and received $17 in RR… but if I have time later tonight I’ll try to run back and get some diapers and tylenol and John Frieda ๐Ÿ™‚ You can see a picture I posted from my trip this morning…

Used the F&F with some of my transactions, forgot on others…the manager seemed bothered that I cashed in on the deal? I used my text coupon, the cashier looked at me like I was crazy and the manager had to come and verify it was legit. I feel like I am stealing from them, especially today, using F&F, coupons, RR’s…it was a profitable trip for me!

    Hope you feel better soon!

I did go out today & got 2 Gillete fusion Razors for 0.27 each ( just tax)
and got 4 crest toothpaste paid just tax (like 0.60 for four)..It was awesome.

Yes. I just got back from my Walgreens F&F trip.
All went very well apart from one hiccup. I did the John Frieda product 3/$15 and get a $5 RR deal. Well I guess since the F&F discount put the products below $15, I didn’t get my RR. I didn’t realize till I got home so I am considering returning them. But I have used my ip’s for this deal now so won’t be able to try it again….
Do you think if I called the Catalina company they would mail it to me. Was thinking that since it was below the $15 I may not be eligible for it….?

same as Andrea, I forgot to use the F&F discount on one of mine and then I forgot to use the activity book coupon on the diapers. I shouldn’t go when I am in a rush and have my kids with me. lots of things were sold out. kind of dissappointing.

I did great. Spent $6 OOP after coupons, FF and RR, and got $8.50 back in RR. Can’t remember my pre-coupon total, but bought two boxes of chocolates not on sale for emergency forgotten teacher valentines, two things of wet ones, four 3 musketeer bars, an aveeno face wash, the dove men body wash, and it seems like one other thing?? Even the lady who did my checkout was impressed!

Today I had a very frustrating trip at walgreens. I spent a long time trying to figure out my 3 transactions so I wouldn’t be left with a bunch of register rewards. The manager o.k.ed me using one f&f coupon for 3 transactions. I was buying one huggies and two kotex and using two mfq’s, so I was planning on using a R.R. to help pay as well since I had three items. The register beeped every time I tried to use a R.R. even if I had plenty of items. The cashiers at my walgreens act like I am trying to steal from them personally like some of the rest of you so she seemed to take pleasure when I couldn’t use any R.R. to pay with. Now I am stuck with $23 R.R. and I really don’t need anything else from Walgreens. After I get rid of these R.R. I don’t think I will be going back to walgreens for a long time.

    Here is the picture:

Here are just a few things I ended up with:

    1 Schick Men’s razor
    1 Schick Women’s razor
    2 Ocean Spray cranberry juiuces
    3 jars green olives
    3 Physican’s formula bronzers
    2 Dove body washes
    2 pack Orbitz gum

I had a great trip to walgreens. It was my first time shopping there. The applied the 15% to each item i purchased. Only hiccup was that I purchased the wrong Schick Quattro razor. I got the 3 RR but no rebate inside. I think I am going to try and return it, but it is opened and I am not sure how the return will work with the 15% friends and family.

My Root Awakening RR didn’t come out, so a manager had to come over to help. The cashier was a bit bothered, but the manager was fine! It was probably because of the F & F coupon, the 3/$15 isn’t reached, so the catalina doesn’t print. I’ve gotten good about ALWAYS checking my receipts AND making sure I’ve got all my purchases/bags before I leave the store. It would be interesting to find out how much stores actually MAKE on people who (like I used to be) don’t check their receipts and just shrug off the missed savings.

I am still trying to figure all of this out, but I think I did ok. I got
2 Childrens Tylenol $4.99 each used $3 off two coupon
    1 Huggies $8.99 used $2 coupon
4 3 Musketeers used in ad coupon for $.49 each
2 Cover Girl eyeliners BOGO 50% off $7.69 total and used $2.50 off two coupon.
    And I used the 15%
Total $18.74 and I got back $7.50 in RR

added a couple Walgreens items and they covered the entire purchase with 15/20% off. (anyone else think it is odd that they have to lock up the razors?)

I just recently started shopping at Walgreens, and I had a great trip today! I had $6 RR from the Kotex deal (which I used coupons for when I purchased them) so I ended up with 4 bottles of the Johnson & Johnson body wash that was on sale for $1.50 and a couple little V-Day goodies for under $3.00. I will definitely start checking out the Walgreens ads more now.

I used my friends and family coupon but the cashier and the manager were VERY rude with me doing just 2 transactions. They informed me that next time I am only allowed to do 1 a day. After telling them that I come in weekly and usually do 3 they said that it will NOT happen again and only should do 1 per day!!

    Charlene,

You are the best! I printed your post, circled what I needed, clipped out my coupons, took them in an envelope. The manager rung me up at the photo dept and knew what he was doing so it went very smoothly! He let me use all the coupons I wanted. I did two transactions where I spent $17 dlrs each, and saved in total $72 dollars!!! I took a friend with me to show her how I do it, and boy was she impressed. Another poster above was correct, the John Frieda RR won’t print with the coupons, but come on! I got 3 great shampoos and conditioner for like $7 dlrs anyway! By the way the Starbucks Frapuccino coupons worked like a charm too (6 pack for $2.99 after $1.00 off plus $1.00 RR). I love MFA!!!!!!!!!

I stopped on my way home from work, and I was hurried because DH was waiting for pizza dinner. I grabbed 2 bottles of Ocean Spray juice and the Walgreens Neti-pot (sinus wash) system. Used the f&f Q, 2 printables for the ocean spray, the walgreens Q from the february book for the ocean spray, and the Q from the february book for the sinus stuff. paid only $6.83. Thats about half price of the sinus stuff. Wish I could’ve spent more time there….

I think I did pretty well considering that I purchased a couple of things that didn’t have register rewards and I didn’t have any of the Garnier coupons. The cashier was more than accommodating and even gave me 8 $0.75 Garnier coupons. After all was said and done, I spent $51.26 and got back $37 in Register Rewards. Pack of Huggies
    One Dove mens body wash
2 valentines buttons for my girls
2 Speed stick deodorant (on sale for $1.00 each)
    3 Dr. Pepper litter bottles

I had an AWESOME trip!! I waited until today to do my Wags shopping – except for the Dove deal and one razor that I picked up Sunday. I did multiple transactions and purchased 2 MVP Razors, 4 Theraflu, 10 Dayquil/Nyquil, 4 Puffs, 4 Coke 12 Pks, 6 Mars candy bars (fillers), and a toy helicopter for my teenage son – after F&F, coupons, and RR’s – only $6.27 OOP and it was tax, left with 25 RR left for next week. ๐Ÿ˜€ Some things that I wanted to get – they were already out of, but hey, that is just part of the game. Sometimes you are there first – and sometimes you just miss out. But the deals always come back around… Hope you feel better soon!

You all did great! I didn’t need much, so I got the Schick trimmer razor with 15% off text Q, rolled a $5 RR and got a $3 RR back. The Dove Mens was out of stock and I didn’t see a 3 Musketeers Q in our Wags ad in Central FL.

It was fabulous! Today was a great Wags day! First trip in the morning I got over $75.00 worth of stuff and paid $2.20 + tax. I did use $31 in RR’s but got back $25! Thanks to the meter deal from last week, I had plenty of RR’s to roll so it wasn’t a big deal to give up a few. Then tonight, after hearing about the new Olay rebate and also getting my House Party pack for the Potty Dance Party, I was able to get some free pull ups for the party and all the body wash needed for the rebate along with more razors, and all at 15% discount. Tonights transactions came to $.41 and $.63 + tax. Used $21.50 in RR’s and got back $14. Still have $76 in RR’s. This has been a great day/week at Wags. I will miss it when it’s over.

I’m sorry to hear you couldn’t make it out. Hope you feel better very very soon!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well – hope you feel better soon Charlene! (that is my sister’s name, too, btw!) I used my 15% coupon + $3 manuf. cpn + $3 Wags cpn for some Abreva lip care. Not a super great deal because I didn’t have any RR’s, but a great price for that product, nonetheless.

nor did they ring up the mars candy coupon
and the garidelli coupon didn’t go thru very well either
spent 3.26 for 2 cranberry juice, 2 gardelli, 1 boogie wipe, and a mars bar…bleh…used the 6.00 RR, 2.00 off cranberry, 2.00 off boogie wipes…not so happy

I took advantage of the diaper deal. Awesome! But what I was most excited about is a Gilette Fusion gift pack that included a razor, deoterant, and a matchbox car. The wonderful lady, Jeanna, at the cosmetic counter showed me the gift set and told me to use my $4 off Fusion coupon on it to get the gift set for only $2.49 (actually the 15% off came off of it too!) So guess what hubby is getting from V-Day?! That and a hoodie for him and our toddler son that matches from the Children’s Place deal you told us about. Thank you for what you do! After reading other’s comments about their Walgreen’s shopping yesterday, I feel better about my mistakes. It was a fairly successful trip and they were very nice about the coupons, I was even able to purchase multiple items with the one 15% off coupon, but I didn’t realize I couldn’t get a RR for each when purchasing several Huggies, so I bought two in one transaction, and didn’t realize I only received one RR until I got home. I did get the free 8×10 collage print which I then followed up with the 60% off coupon for Michael’s and got a nice framed collage photo of the family for the DH for Vday for only $4. There is so much to remember while doing these transactions, I’m still learning how to get it right, and yes, having the kids along sure makes it harder!

I had a pretty good trip yesterday as well. Since I’m a beginner with the RRs, I have a question. Is it true that you can only get 1 of each product’s RRs on each transaction? For example, I got two packs of the Huggies yesterday and it only printed 1 $3 RR. The RRs when used with coupons and having to have as many products as coupons makes Walgreen’s kind of tricky, but I thought it would print out 2 RRs for the Huggies? Can anyone answer for me?

  44. ashley says

    02/13/2010 at 10:18 AM

I hate Walgreen’s, there is always only 1 cashier available for a long line of people so they are always trying to rush you. Since I always have a ton of coupons they are usually very rude to me. I did get a lot of great deals yesterday, but when I got home I realzied they did not give me one of my receipts for one of my transactions, of course it had the olay + venus purchase on it so I’m on my way back today to try to get a new one printed out because of the $15 rebate I saw today.

did great yesterday! shopped at 2 stores – all of the cashiers and managers were very friendly and helpful. fortunately the first store where I did the majority of the purchases was very quiet. The cashier forgot the friends discount a couple of times and the manager had to void the transactions. They also had problems with the coupons from the kids activity book – they weren’t ringing them up and the cashier entered them as manufacturer Qs which threw off the item ratio. Anyway, 2 very sucessful trips. I picked up

    6 packs of Huggies
    2 Ocean Spray cranberry juiuces
3 bottles soda – Dr. Pepper
    2 Dove body washes
    4 pack Orbitz gum
    6 childrens tylenol & motrin
    2 packs Kotex
    4 bags hersheys pieces
    Cascade dishwasher
    swiffer
    mr clean eraser
    mr clean all purpose solution
    and lots of 3 musketeers!

I’m planning to donate the chocolate and men’s dove soap to a group that ships stuff overseas to troops in Iraq & Afghanistan.

couldn’t find the boogie wipes – did anyone’s store have these??

I went to 2 different Walgreens to stock up on Huggies.

When trying to use the RR for the second Huggies transaction, register beeped when trying to use the RR and a coupon. Cashier was helpful and tried scanning the coupons and RR in a different order and it went through. When she scanned the RR first then the Huggies coupon, the register did not beep, so I was able to use both without a problem.

From now on I will hand over RR to use before the coupons.
