I went to safeway today to get the natures valley bars. Unfortunately, they only let me use one of the internet print-out coupon for $0.40 off. They said that fine print says that "one coupon per purchase of specified product(s)," means that only one coupon can be used per transaction. Did anyone run into this problem? I thought it just meant that only one coupon can be used per item purchased and I purchased 4 of them so I should be able to use four coupons. this happened at the mission st SF, Ca safeway location. thanks.

Hi Anon, That happens frequently with people that don't understand coupons. If it happens to me than I simply avoid that cashier the next time and if it happens regularly at that store than I just don't shop there. I am always polite and respectful but honestly I don't need the headache and if Walgreens is a pain I can get just as many deals at Rite Aid. Does that make sense?
You are correct that if it says one per purchase that means one coupon per item you are buying. The next time you might want to nicely ask for the manager and if the mgr sides with the cashier I just wouldn't shop there anymore–or go through the U Scan ;).
