OK, if this doesn’t convince you couponing is worth the time than I don’t know what will. I paid $5.22 for everything on the counter! And I split the purchases between Raley’s and Safeway- not cheap stores.
Here is the breakdown:
Raley’s:
(2) Gigantic Cucumbers $.50 each
Mango $.50
Smuckers Triple Berry Topping $1.25 (on clearance) used .55/1 Smuckers coupon (this is going to be delicious with homemade scones)
4.41 lbs of bananas $1.72 (hello banana bread!)
Hefty Bags .99 w/ in ad coupon- used $1 coupon and cashier scanned a .20 peelie (this happened last time too! I had the store manager checking me out & he insisted I could use all 3 coupons)
Kashi Waffles $2.69- used FREE item coupon from Vocalpoint
Raley’s Black Beans .69
Clean and Clear Morning Burst Scrub $2 (on clearance) used $2 off printable
Final Price: $3.30 (for those keeping track I was overcharged AGAIN! The Hefty bags rang up at $4.19 and it should have been .99. I got a refund before leaving the store.
Safeway:
3 Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce .99 each- used (3) $1 coupons
(2) Mission Tortillas 30ct $.99 each- used .75 blinkies
Yoplait Yogurt $2.50- used $1 printable and had (2) $1 e-coupons automatically deducted
(2) Jennie O Lean Ground Turkey 2/$6- used $5 off coupon I told you about here
(4) Sweet Corn .25 each
Final Price: $1.95!
I love that this is a "real" shopping trip with "real" food!! Not just junk food that's cheap!

Hi Kate, I wasn't sure how that would go but I went through the UScan and no problems at all.
I used my Jennie coupon at Safeway and just bought one, but it gave me the overage…took $5 off when it was only $3.

Hi Erin, The matchups were in my Sfwy and Raleys posts- the $1 coupon was in 6/21 and 5/10 Smart Source. I didn't get the 6/21 coupon but I did get the 5/10 and it was the front page. You can always get a raincheck at Safeway for the .99 price and try to trade for coupons (see my article on buying or trading by clicking on the Where to Begin tab under the heading) or you can go try to buy them from Coupon Clippers. Or just pay .99- that is a good price 🙂
