If you aren’t aware that the cashiers get a small incentive to push whatever deal they have at the registers, it is nice to occasionally buy those items to help the cashiers out. I actually bought (3) chocolate bars but my husband already ate one. They were $2 for 3 and I could have used a BOGO coupon from last week’s inserts but the line was exceptionally long and I didn’t want to bother.
Here is the breakdown:
Meter $10- used $10 off coupon = FREE plus I got $10 in register rewards
(NOTE: These were located in my pharmacy. I have (3) more coupons and I placed a special order for 3 more meters I should be able to pick up tommorrow. These were on the shelf for $82 and I had the cashier scan it first and it was $10. I should have paid tax but how ever she rang it up created a 0 balance.)
Ecotrin $2 each- I did 3 transactions and paid with $2/1 coupons. Tax was .17 each time
Peanuts and chocolate bars- nuts were on clearance for 1.89 and I used $1/1 coupon from my toolbar to the right. I also used one of the $2/1 register rewards from Ecotrin.
Paid $1.40 total on gift card, received $16 in register rewards (used one on candy)- so a net profit of $12.60. Whoo hoo!
I’d love to know how the meter deal worked for you and what you plan to spend your register rewards on! I will do a post tommorrow with sneak peaks at coming week’s for Walgreens so we can plan how to roll these register rewards.

I went to 2 Walgreens and bought 2 meters at each store. Also bought 2 Ecotrin at each. I spent my money on 2 Children’s Zyrtec (DD has bad seasonal allergies), Quattro razors for DH, 2 Chinet paper plates, Baby wipes (needed these) Birthday card for nephew, 2 Father’s day cards, and I still have 3 $2 Cats left. I have 3 more meter coupons left, but I don’t want to clear shelves, so I don’t know if I’m going to use them…. Love your blog! -in PA
