Thank you for stopping by my blog, My Frugal Adventures!

I am Charlene, a stay at home mom of two gorgeous baby girls and one pound puppy. This blog is written for the  moms (and non-moms) out there that want to learn how to seriously stretch a dollar. By sticking to a budget and making every penny count we are able to enjoy life and spend money on the things that are really important to us. As the blog name indicates- we are committed to a debt free lifestyle and we are slowly getting there- one coupon at a time!

We live in the land of no doubles (Northern California)- where the cost of living is high and getting great deals is even more of a challenge. If I can do it anyone can do it!

Charlene,

Love your website, I use it for all my deals, except Foods Co. Have you ever thought about checking out there deals?

Charlene August 31, 2012 at 9:30 AM

Merrie,

Yours will be the third request for Foods Co in three years :) . So no I really haven’t had much interest and haven’t considered it as a result. I think the Kroger deals I post match a little to Foods Co. They do have nice sales it just isn’t a very popular store.

Hi there, I just missed Target beauty bag filled with stuff. Is there anyway you can remind me once again when there is another offer coming up. Please. Thank you. I really like to have one since people are talking about it. Thanks again

Charlene, I appreciate all your effords to help us save a dollar.
I have been reading about making my own laundry detergent or soap. I found a receipe on the internet, but I am hesitating a little bit. I don’t know anybody who has ever done that. Can you give me some advice or even try it out?

Charlene September 17, 2012 at 7:44 AM

Kathrin,

I have actually heard great things about homemade laundry soap. I looked into it at one point but I have never found the Arm and Hammer Washing Soap that most people use.

Here is a recipe from pinterest:

She has a lot of comments from people that tried the recipe.

Hi Charlene,

I just came across your website looking for matchup deals for luckys/savemart. Do you only post the best deals, or do you post everything on sale, is there a way to determine how good the deal is?

Thanks
Luba

Charlene October 11, 2012 at 10:27 AM

Luba,

I don’t post all the deals just the ones I think are the best ;) .

luba October 11, 2012 at 10:53 AM

Hi Charlene, I love your website as it is so full of info! i tried getting the address labels from walmart but it did not show free shipping after I applied the discount code. I dare not enter my credit card details as I think the site will charge me for shipping. Any advice?

Charlene November 21, 2012 at 5:46 PM

Carol- Go ahead and do it and then after you get through that step the final page will reflect the discount. They won’t charge you until you click a button that says place order or confirm order or something to that effect.

adriana November 28, 2012 at 8:57 PM

Elf is not working for me or the Crabtree and Evelyn deals, very frustrating, you should check your deals before you post them!

Charlene December 1, 2012 at 4:04 PM

Kim,

Those were posted yesterday. With very hot deals- like the ones you mentioned at over 75% off the retail price- you do want to shop the same day the offer is posted. If you wait a day or two to shop- like you have done- the offers do expire. That doesn’t have anything to do with me. It has to do with you being more timely. I did check the offers and they both worked fine when I posted. If you actually go back and read the posts I did explain very clearly the offers were available 11/30. Today is 12/1. Your unpleasant remarks are totally unwarranted.

CHERYL December 1, 2012 at 5:26 PM

these deals are available to millions and go very fast ecspecially this time of year. i was like wow reading kims comment hopefully she was just frustrated at something else in her life and took it out on you and not really mad about getting a deal because there is so many more important things in life to worry about

Beth December 3, 2012 at 9:02 AM

Living Social has a deal today for a $20 eGift card to CVS for $10. Should make some nice holiday shopping! https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/525836?ref=conf-jp&rpi=94958070

al nonymous December 29, 2012 at 1:09 PM

Just wanted to say that the women who run these type of shopping blogs are AWESOME. i cant believe all the deals you find and the coupons that you are aware of.

Josh December 30, 2012 at 9:33 PM

Hi, I recently started my journey into couponing however I have ran into a few issues. Has anyone else had problems using coupons.com? It wont let me actually clip any items, except whatever the offer of the week is. Even when I try and click on the see more coupons link its as if its unclickable. When I do try and print the offer of the week coupon it says my printer settings are wrong even though they arent (I tripled check). This is sooo frustrating, has anyone else had these kinds of issues?

Carol May 5, 2013 at 10:03 AM

Hi Charlene, I love what you are doing! I tell people all the time what a great site you have.
I do have trouble finding things after the post gets a little old. For example: What is the easiest way to find Retail and Restaurant Coupons a few days after the post? And the Link to the Red Plum coupons?
Thanks for all of your wonderful information! Carol

Charlene May 5, 2013 at 12:32 PM

Hi Carol, Thanks so much! The Red Plum link is at the bottom of the page in the center. The other stuff- I put the retail and restaurant under the “coupons” category. If you look in the top right corner you will see a search box. Directly above that is a tab that says “categories”- you click that and select the categories from the drop down box. In this case it is Coupons. When I do that the third thing down is the retail coupons.

Let me know if that is confusing to you-

Katy May 10, 2013 at 9:03 PM

Hey! Sometimes you post about personalized banners for parties. What website is it?

Charlene May 10, 2013 at 10:04 PM

Katy- Shindigz is the company.
