Here are a few ideas for new couponers to get started with Walgreens deals. The Register Reward program at Walgreens can be a little tricky so be sure to read HERE and HERE before you head out!
I think I am going to add a few intermediate ideas next week for you guys to try! Hopefully the drugstore game is really starting to make sense for you and you are having fun with these transactions!
Here is my idea for this week. This is a very basic and easy transaction for new Walgreens shoppers to get started. This is actually a really good week at Walgreens so you can choose whatever your family might need from the list HERE.
Buy 2 Purex 2in1 Dryer Sheets for $9
Use the Buy One Get One Free coupon from the 2/21 RP (the cashier should deduct $4.50)
Also use the $1/1 coupon HERE
Pay: $3.50 + tax and get a $1 Register Reward back. That makes the net price for these just $1.25 each.
Then you can buy something over $1 with that Register Reward! Here is one idea:
Buy 2 Walgreens Aluminum Foil
Use the coupon that is located in the weekly circular to make them $.59 each.
(Walgreens has a very unique system in that you only need 1 store coupon and it will deduct the price off of every like item in your transaction. So in this case ONE in ad coupon will work for both of the foil. This is a quirk that you will only find at Walgreens with their store coupons.)
Then use your $1 Register Reward.
Final Price: Just .18!
So you will have spent a total of $3.68 plus tax this week. You will get 2 boxes of Purex 2 in 1 Dryer Sheets and 2 boxes of Walgreens Foil.
One note about Walgreens. This is a good time to get a feel for your store. Some stores are very difficult about using coupons and some will not allow you to use coupons on a Register Reward item. When you first start shopping at any store it is good to get a sense of whether the store is just going to be difficult or if they making shopping a pleasant experience. I personally try to avoid stores that are unpleasant.
