If you are looking to add to your reading list for Fall, I just updated my to read pile and wanted to share a bunch of books that look interesting to me
Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
This is a fictional account of Joan Goodwin, a woman that has always had a fascination with space, and suddenly finds herself as one of the first female scientists to join NASA in the 1980’s.
As she joins a group of talented astronauts preparing for their first flights, she learns a lot about herself and discovers who she really is in the process. When an unexpected tragedy occurs on a mission, putting everyone’s lives in jeopardy,
This story is about a woman that goes on her annual vacation with her children and parents to a family beach house. The trip forces her to confront secrets that come out in the open and testing relationships. All of the reviews call this a perfect end of summer read that is witty and engaging.
The View From Lake Como by Adriana Trigiani
I am excited to see a new release from Adriana Trigiani – she is one of my favorite authors. This is the story of Jess, recently divorced, moving back into her parent’s home. Jess takes care of everyone and lacks the recognition and appreciation she deserves from her family with the exception of her uncle Louie. With Louie’s encouragement, she returns to a family home in Italy and begins to reinvent her life.
The Land of Sweet Forever by Harper Lee
This is a collection of essays from Harper Lee that discuss a variety of topics around her childhood in Alabama in the 1930’s and following her to a more glamorous adulthood in Manhattan. This is a collection of short stories – both fiction and nonfiction- Harper wrote prior to her passing in the hopes of having them published in magazines. Her personal assistant later compiled all the stories to create this book.
This will be released in October and would be a great book to take for traveling this year.
This is the story of Simon, a struggling and recently divorced lawyer in rural Virginia. Simon thinks he has hit the jackpot when a reclusive, wealthy widow walks into his office to have her will redone. As he is working on her case, her story begins to fall apart and before he knows it, Simon is being accused of committing murder. Now he needs to find the truth and discover who the actual murderer is before it is too late.
The description of this one reminds me a little bit of the Stephen King book Misery from years ago and I love the idea of revisiting that concept because it is just so creepy. This is the story of a young woman that is 8 months pregnant and facing some big challenges in her life. She sets out one night to move in with her brother and hoping for a fresh start. Instead of reaching her brother’s house safely, she finds herself stranded with a dead car in a blizzard in the middle of nowhere and is rescued by a kind couple offering to let her wait out the storm in their cabin… She quickly realizes things are not at all what they seem and she needs to devise a plan to rescue herself and her baby before it is too late.
Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney
This is the story of a complicated marriage, one night Grady calls his wife on her drive home to share some exciting news. As they are speaking, he hears her slam on her brakes, get out of the car and then nothing. He later finds the car and phone abandoned on the side of a cliff. Grady is devastated and eventually makes his way to a remote Scottish island to grieve his wife, when he spots a woman that looks identical to her. This is a thriller with lots of twists and turns and we get chapters from both Grady and from his wife, Abby’s perspective…
The Love Haters by Katherine Center
This is a great easy read for the last days of summer. Katherine Center always writes sweet romance novels that are hard to put down and just make you feel good. This is the story of two brother’s that are total opposites and have a very complicated relationship. When one brother convinces his video producer friend, Katie, to take a job following his Coast Guard rescue swimmer brother in a video profile, she takes the leap despite being in over her head.
The Griffin Sisters Greatest Hits by Jennifer Weiner
In the early 2000’s two sisters gained meteoric fame and rose to the very top of the music charts with hit songs. After one year, the band broke up and both sisters went their separate ways. Two decades later, the daughter of one of the sisters has dreams of a music career and sets out to uncover the secrets behind her Mom’s career and what the truth was behind the band’s breakup. I love Jennifer Weiner books and always rush to read these the minute they are released.
Just read The Love Haters based on your rec.

A good story to get lost into.
Thanks for the book recommendations
Oh I am thrilled to hear that Bobbie! I haven’t read it yet but I really love Katherine Center. I met her in person once right after her first novel came out and she is a lovely person too.
