I am a December birthday and as I had some free birthday gifts come through last month, I was thinking I should do an updated post on the freebies and discounts that I received that I thought were worth the time to sign up for.
A few years ago I went through so many birthday freebies lists and signed up for all sorts of things, downloaded apps etc.. only to be annoyed and disappointed when that free offer wasn’t really free.
So while any discount is great, I thought I might narrow down some of the ones that I felt were really worth the time.
Here are the offers that I personally found to be worthwhile.
Sephora. By far the best. The beauty insiders program is simple, free and even if you rarely shop at Sephora it is absolutely worth signing up for. They offer usually 5-6 different free mini products that you can pick up in your birthday month at any store or you can add to an online order of $25+.
As of posting, the free minis are shown above: a Laneige set, Summer Fridays, Amika, Julliette has a Gun fragrance, Kerastase and more. These do rotate and they will run out of the more popular items. Even though it is a sample/mini size, these are always very expensive products so a treat to try out.
*Tip: If you are also a December birthday, I suggest registering as January instead. Every single year I find almost all the gifts are gone by December. Sephora restocks new samples and has ample inventory in January.
Ulta. They also offer a beauty gift totally free on your birthday month. The gifts tend to be one single mini of a product so not as generous as Sephora and I don’t find the brands as exciting but it is still a great offer to pick up. For my birthday I got a free mini of a Kristin Ess Hair mask for my travel toiletry case.
*Tip: You will need to make a purchase at some point prior to your birthday to qualify for the gift. If you register for a new account and just go in for this promotion, they won’t honor it.
Habit Burger. I have registered for Habit because the veggie burger is one of my favorite fast food options. They are a little more expensive though and on my birthday I was happy to receive a coupon for a free burger. There were no purchase requirements necessary and I ordered online and picked up in store.
Chipotle. If you are a fan of Chipotle, they offer a free coupon for guac when you register and will also send out a coupon on your birthday. This is subject to change but the offer I received was a free guacamole with $5 purchase over a 30 day period. If you are a frequent diner at Chipotle, this might be worth it.
Bath & Body Works. I don’t shop here often but I did during the candle sale and I occasionally pick up gifts. I was part of the program and got a coupon for a free full size product with no strings attached. The catch is the product is only regularly priced up to $16.50 so that does limit you a bit but there are still body creams, lip items, room sprays, single wick candles and more.
Starbucks. Starbucks will send you a coupon for a free birthday drink. You do need to register at least a week before your birthday and you will need to have made a purchase prior to your birthday. I believe this year the coupon for only valid for one day.
Anthropologie. This is a fantastic reward- Anthro will send you a coupon to use for $20 off a $20+ purchase when you register for marketing emails – this is anytime not just your birthday. In addition, they will send you a 20% off coupon to spend in your birthday month. Mine was December and I used both the $20 off and the 20% off on holiday gifts.
Madewell. This is another great one as you will get a $25 voucher on your birthday month AND a $15 voucher on your half birthday.
Those were my favorites this year. If you recently received a good birthday reward, I’d love to add it to this list!
Madewell too! They send you a $25 Gift Card! No Min spend!
Thanks Aubree I totally forgot Anthro too. Will add both.
