The Hatch 2 sunrise alarm clock is on sale for $144 right now. This is the lowest price I have seen on this and it comes in three color choices- this linen, a darker putty shade and a slate green.
I have the Hatch alarm and I really love mine. It slowly lights up so you wake up more gently and you can set sounds- mine has bird sounds. If you are suspicious if this thing will actually wake you up, I can say I have never once overslept and I actually have to turn it off if I want to sleep in.
This is a really wonderful gift idea for pretty much anyone but I am including it on my gift guide for young women this year.
