Ok here is your teen boy gift guide. Hopefully this helps with some direction on things that might be practical and that your boy will like and use. I don’t personally have boys but I did quiz my teenage girls, their boyfriends and some of my friends with boys to get a variety of items in a variety of price points to consider.
LED TV Backlight . Various LED lights are still really popular – the strip lights are apparently out but wall tiles are in or I found these lights that go behind a TV and will change color depending on the color of the tv screen. I think these would be especially cool for gamers.
Bulk Chips. If you haven’t done a giant box of snacks for your kids, try it this year and see if it isn’t the favorite thing they open. A big Costco box of whatever they like- Takis, Pringles etc.. I found these spicy dill chips and I know my kids would dive into these.
Sephora Cologne Sampler. This is always a gift I include in guides. It is a bag with 11 different mini cologne options, once you try them all and decide the one you like best, there is a voucher inside you can redeem for a full size cologne. This is from Sephora but I have linked Kohl’s where the samplers are priced at $80 instead of $95.
Ramen Bowl. This is for the kid that loves making ramen, it is a bowl specifically designed to make ramen in the microwave or you can make pasta, box mac and cheese etc.. This might be a great option for kids going to college.
Boxing Machine. This is a really popular gift this year and might be fun for a kid that likes working out. It is a boxing machine with music and lights and gloves and you can install it on the wall of a garage or bedroom and get in a workout. Please note it is a pricier item but the machine I linked has a 50% off coupon to clip as of posting.
Birkenstock Boston Clogs. Birks are still hugely popular and I feel like these clogs are a great option for winter. As my daughter says- for boys you don’t want the dogs out so better to have something that covers up the feet that they can slip on and off for sports practice or wear with sweats or jeans.
Sweat Suit. Clothes are such a specific thing, lots of guys are into the Nike Tech stuff, Carhartt sweatshirts whatever but I think a basic hoodie or sweats or both from Abercrombie is always a very safe bet. My daughter says these camo hoodies from Hollister are also super popular- I can see there are 1330 people shopping for this hoodie as of posting so she must be right.
Boot Warmer. This is not going to be exciting for anyone but you and that still makes it a win in my book. A boot warmer is a must have for kids in sports in particular. Their cleats can absolutely smell a room up like nothing else and if you get them into a habit of putting shoes or cleats on a boot warmer after use, I promise you will be amazed at much less things smell. We have used ours to death and this year I need a new one. I keep this in a basket either in a kids room or their bathroom so it is incredibly easy to pop the cleats or shoes on after they get wet or sweaty and then the next day, take them off and shove them in a bag for practice. Use this for sneakers, boots etc…
Blender bottle. If you have a kid in sports or that likes the gym a new blender bottle might be a great option for protein shakes etc..
3 in 1 Speaker/Charger. My girls only use headphones and never speakers but if you have a kid that does amplify music, this is something that can stay on a nightstand and charges airpods and a phone plus it has a color changing night light.
Truf Hot Sauce Sampler. This is something I get for my daughter but if your kiddo likes hot and spicy, a sampler pack of hot sauces can be a great gift.
Personal Care Products. I usually think this specific gift is the dud for boys but lately I see more and more guys that are into a skin care routine or that are trying to level up personal hygiene. It is something they need and a very practical gift to put it all together for them. I started taking my girls to a dermatologist in middle school and these are a few things that we started with that are cheap and easy-
- A basic cleanser like Cetaphil
- Facial Pads are really great for kids in sports to swipe after practice or a workout. You can get the cheap Stridex pads or these are just something a little nicer. If your kid wears a face mask for sports, our dermatologist has us use these to clean the parts that come in contact with the face too.
- Basic Moisturizer with spf for the day time- can’t go wrong with Cerave.
- Differin Adapalene. Adapalene is the best thing you can get for acne over the counter.
- PanOxyl Body Wash. This is a fantastic product for sweaty boys in the shower. This has Benzoyl Peroxide so use this after workouts as a body wash for the chest, shoulders, back to prevent acne.
- Carhartt Toiletry bag. A basic, inexpensive waterproof bag to keep it all together.
