There were some gifts I bought this year that I knew would be huge hits with the family. A few small things I bought by mistake or on last minute impulse totally surprised me by stealing the show this year. I thought I’d share a few of the things that were a big hit just in case these might work for you or you want to tuck them away for giftsthis year.
This is a small tripod for an iphone that is super cheap- only $13! I was kicking myself for not including this in the holiday gift guide for teens but I grabbed it at the last minute for my 12 year old. She does a lot of art classes from You Tube and she does soccer foot skills both on video and taping her own footwork. I thought this tripod might be handy to hold her phone. Man she loves this thing! It comes with a remote so you can start or stop videos/photos hands free and she immediately put it behind the soccer rebounder goal that has taken up residence in our living room- and has been having so much fun taping her shooting.
If you have kids that are into Tik Tok, making videos, athletes etc… I bet this would be a huge hit.
I thought I was buying a normal Kong with my Chewy dog food order and instead it was this giant bouncy Kong. This is inflated and our dogs are having so much fun with it. I thought it would be destroyed quickly but it is holding up really well and the kids have been kicking it and the dogs catch it- well worth the $9.
I couldn’t think of anything for my nephew who just had a baby and at the last minute grabbed the Original for him and the Remix shirt for his son. They are so cute in person and he absolutely loved this gift. I’d for sure save this idea for Father’s Day. Could not be a more perfect gift. According to my nephew- “that was the best gift I got all year.”
I bought myself this jacket and I really love it. I got this bright yellow color but there are a few other more muted options. It is super warm and comfortable. I have been wearing it to evening soccer practices that are normally miserably cold and have been perfectly comfortable. So glad I splurged a little on a good coat this year.
I treated myself to one of these gorgeous diffusers from Anthropolgie and who would have guessed it doesn’t come with any oil. Sigh. So I stopped in to grab an oil and this Volcano oil smells heavenly. If you have diffusers or if you use a drop of oil on dryer balls, this Volcano scent is wonderful.
This was a gift from Grandpa and internally I was like- great. More junk to clutter up their rooms. (#Grinch) These things are actually really neat. Its a ball/drone thing that lights up and spins around. Your child can move their hands up and down and the thing will fly all over the room. They are affordable and my kids thought they were so cool.. great idea for birthday parties.
This is an attachment for your shower or for a hose that makes it so easy to wash the dog! I get our dogs gifts for Christmas- see Kong Bounzer above- and this was one thing I got because bathing the dogs is a nightmare for us. I have a bulldog that is absolutely traumatized by the bath and this allows us to get the entire process done so much faster and easier and using way less water.
So that’s it for the random gifts that turned out to be a big hit this year. Did anyone else have something they were pleasantly surprised by?
