Summer is right around the corner- we are counting down the days until school is out. Just 6 more days and I am getting our supply of summer items ready! We have a road tripped planned, five softball tournaments, one soccer tournament and hopefully a lot of time by the pool.
I put together a few things that are my favorites that always find their way into my beach bag or sports bag and thought you might be interested in some of these as well. Here are a few of my summer favorites:
This powder is awesome for an extra layer of protection- especially if you are sitting in the sun for long periods. Sunscreen always melts into my eyes and burns my contacts so I love having this powder in my bag.
I always post about these but they really are the best. If you live in a hot climate, please treat yourself to a really good water bottle. It is so worth it to have ice cold water on a blistering hot day.
How darling is this blanket? It looks to be water resistant and folds up neatly into a little carrying pouch.

I love this cooler and I know I will splurge on it before the summer ends. Such a bright color and great size for a few drinks and snacks.
This rainbow dot umbrella is really cute and a nice light color to reflect the sun this summer. These are handy for the beach and for softball or soccer games. We use these light umbrellas for soccer practice too.
I really need to order this hat as I just sit in the sun for so many hours during summer. My ears burn, my face burns, my chest burns, despite mountains of sunscreen. This one offers a lot of protection and a lot of style too.
This stuff is amazing as a moisturizing mask to put on right before bed. It isn’t too goopy or sticky but provides tons of hydration.
Another lip protector for summer. A light, almost sheer color and SPF to slick on when you are out and about.
I’m going to try this hair lightener this summer and see how it works on my roots. I might try it on my daughter too who gets the most gorgeous highlights in her hair in summer.
This one is cute and simple and super affordable.

SUMMER BOOK: Mrs Everything
Here are two books at the top of my summer reading list. See a few more recommendations here.
I keep this in the car and I keep the actual Avon bug repellent in the car at all times. This stuff smells so amazing and works wonders as a bug spray! I absolutely can’t handle regular bug sprays- the smell and the stickiness. I hate putting it on but both soccer and softball and evening gardening too are just swarming with mosquitos and this stuff has worked out really well for me.
These are so fun! Little tiny stickers that look like custom nail art. I love the flamingo pool floats in particular and the little fruit stickers.
Ok this might seem ridiculous and a little extravagant but this Evian facial mist is such a delight on a hot day. Seriously- my mamas that sit at a ballpark for hours and hours in particular are going to love this stuff. It is a bracing and fine mist of cool water that is so refreshing. I know you can just buy a spray bottle and add water but this is a really fine mist that doesn’t ruin your makeup and soak your face. I always have one of these tucked into our cooler in summer.
This pool float is so fun and whimsical. I had to pick it up for summer. This one should let me sit up in the pool which is perfect.
I love these turkish towels to use as a beach towel, picnic tablecloth or even a blanket on cool evenings. This one comes in a rainbow of color choices.
I’d love to hear if you have any summer must haves or new products that you are particularly excited about in the comments below!

I bought the picnic blanket per your suggestion. I actually had it on my list for this summer and love the colors.
And I am thinking about trying reusable snack/sandwich bags for picnics with the kiddos during our daily activities/plans for the summer. I always pack multiple snacks/food each day. I know Target has some cute ones, but I haven’t heard much about how they hold up, wash, etc.
We also love the Sunbum sunscreen. We used it last year and have already bought several for this summer too.

Katie- so funny we were looking at those last night! There are some really cute ones in the kitchen section and in the foil/baggie section too. I don’t know either- we tend to use Tupperware and I feel like getting into the corners of those bags to really get them clean might be too much bother for me. I actually bought this set awhile back and have washed it a million times and use it for leftovers, organizing pantry stuff, snack containers etc…

But they take up a lot more space than a baggie. If you pick some up, I’d love to hear what you think.
