Fruit ice cubes

I have partnered with Aquafina to create a really refreshing and simple beverage that is perfect for summer.

Even better these drinks are healthy and light – Aquafina sparkling waters have 0 calories, 0 sugars and 0 artificial flavors. These fruit infused sparkling water mixes are perfect for warm weather – toss in the cooler for a refreshing treat at the beach or post workout.  They are definitely pretty enough to serve friends and family at BBQs this summer as well.

I love sparkling water- especially water with just a hint of flavor like Aquafina.  When I entertain, I feel like just serving water isn’t enough so this fruit infused sparkling water is perfect!  It looks like you went to some effort and tastes delicious but it isn’t heavy or filled with calories and sugar.  I will definitely be making these often this summer.

Ready? These only take a few minutes to put together.

Start by creating frozen fruit ice cubes. To do this roughly chop your fruit or herb of choice- mint, lemon, thyme, blueberry, cucumber, raspberries and so on.  This is a great way to use up leftover produce and herbs.

I used:

I basically opened the fridge and pulled random items out.  Anything you have on hand should work.  Next I boiled water* and once it cooled down a bit, I plopped a few slices of fruit or herbs into an ice cube tray and poured the water over the top.
*You can skip this step but boiling water first creates a prettier, clear ice cube instead of cloudy ice cubes. You can use frozen fruit as well but I did not have as much success with frozen vs. fresh.

Once the water is poured over the fruit, place in the freezer for several hours.

Here is what they look like once you pop them out of the ice cube tray:

And I tried to compliment the flavors of Aquafina sparkling water with my fresh fruit and herbs.

Here is what I chose:

  • Aquafina Black Cherry Dragon Fruit: mixed with lime and strawberry
  • Aquafina Lemon Lime: mixed with lemon, pineapple and lime
  • Aquafina Mango Pineapple: mixed with lemon, pineapple and mint
  • Aquafina Orange Grapefruit: mixed with blueberry and orange

I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite here. These were all really good and just a hint of flavor, which is exactly what I was going for.

So that is it!  A delicious treat to try this summer – refreshing and good for you.

Aquafina Sparkling Water

If you have a crazy busy schedule like I do, this is a perfect treat to pack up to go.  This Spring, I find myself at soccer practice, softball games or dance rehearsal every single day of the week. I am usually hungry but I try to avoid fast foods and snack bar items.  I have started prepping snacks on Sunday that I can grab and take with me.  The fruit infused Aquafina packs perfectly in a mason jar to go.
