I know it is still early in the season but I still wanted to post this idea so you have plenty of time to shop. It seems like when I wait until after Thanksgiving to shop for Christmas, most of the selection is gone. So here is a fun Elf on the Shelf idea nice and early for you to consider. I think this is adorable and plan to do this myself as our Elf arrival this year.
I spotted these adorable fairy doors at Michael’s recently and it got me thinking how cute that would be for our Elf on the Shelf. My little girls love our fairy garden and my littlest has a fairy door in her bedroom that she loves. The tooth fairy is still magical in our house and I thought surely this will be a hit as well.
Best of all it doesn’t require a lot of effort and is super affordable (especially with a coupon).
I found these little doors priced at $14.99 from the Merry Minis collection at Michael’s.
You can use them all season long for the Elf to have adventures or bring back treats and surprises or maybe even letters from Santa. The door stands alone so you can prop it up outside on a tree or inside under your own Christmas tree or on a console table. The hallway between the kid’s bedrooms would be very fun too.
I set this up as an Elf arrival idea so I added a little snow (epsom salts) and made a little suitcase out of twine and a paper bag. Simple and took about 5 minutes to set up. It might even be fun to use flour and write a message in the “snow” for your kids to find.
I don’t see these available online from Michael’s at the moment so you might pop into your store and see if you spot them. There were a few designs available. Another option is to grab an actual fairy door – you can find tons of them here.
