Starbucks has a promotion right now for the first 400,000 people that use their Visa to checkout.. You can purchase a $10 eGift card and get a bonus $5 on your card. So $15 total!
You can send the gift card to yourself, a friend or family member as long as you use your Visa card. Please note the extra $5 will not be reflected when you checkout but will be on your receipt that is emailed to you.
Last year they offered a similar promotion and it did sell out quickly! I would not wait. The offer worked perfectly for me. My receipt arrived in about 10 minutes via email with the bonus after checking out.
Here is the fine print:
If you are one of the first 400,000 people during the Promotion Period to complete steps 1-2 above and meet these promotional offer requirements, you will receive a Bonus Load. YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO RECEIVE A BONUS LOAD. Qualifying customers will see the $5 Bonus Load added to their Starbucks Card eGift purchase receipt. Starbucks will not be responsible for any late, lost, misrouted, or non-delivered e-mails, or other computer- or communications-related failures, caused by events beyond the reasonable control of Starbucks.

Anyone have problems with this offer? I am wondering if it led to my Starbucks account being hacked. I was able to access the offer and purchase 2 @ $10 with the extra $5 bonus and the third only yielded $10 and I transferred the new egift card balances to my existing Starbucks account and now my account is wiped clean…including an additional $10 I loaded from my credit card last week. I’m curious if this is an isolated incident or if others who followed this deal also encountered problems.

Hi Julianne- it was directly from Starbucks did you have a chance to contact them about it? I thought the offer was one per person? If you purchased (3) it could be Starbucks trying to remove the extra bonus since the limit was 1. Maybe they had a glitch trying to reverse the extra bonus. I would get in touch with them to ask about it, I am sure they can figure it out. I haven’t heard of anyone’s Starbucks account getting hacked. I have one myself and mine is OK. 🙂
Hope you get it worked out! If you log into a desktop computer and access your account you can usually see a transaction history and maybe that will give you some clues.

It took a couple of days to get a reply from Starbucks, but when I finally was able to speak with someone, I learned that my primary card was “deactivated” from my account. They were able to track the card and find that it still has the $50 balance intact. Starbucks is sending me a new card in the mail. A good resolution, but I’m a little bummed that I can’t have the balance back on my account to use now for holiday shopping.
