Here are some free or cheap children’s activities available this week to keep the kiddos busy. I thought posting these now will help you plan your week.
These are all the things that are free to do this week with just a few that are very inexpensive.
As always, it’s best to confirm with your local store before you make a special trip.
Lakeshore Learning: Kids will make a Thanksgiving Doorhanger on November 14th. Stop by from 11am-3pm.
Barnes and Noble: There is a free storytime Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday of each week with books, a cookie and usually coloring pages and activities. Check your local store to confirm and verify time.
The Saturday activity will feature The Little Snowplow Storytime.
Bass Pro Shop: Your kids can participate in the Free Kid’s Adventures Activities- treasure hunts, crafts and more. These are weekly activities and vary greatly by location. You can head over here to find your local store to confirm activities and times. And just a heads up from personal experience, it is best to get in line early. These events tend to be very popular.
Many stores will have free Santa pictures beginning 11/15 plus free crafts and more!
REI: They offer the Family Adventure Program with various classes for children and adults. I saw hiking and camping classes plus fun Geocaching adventures. I also saw outdoor photography lessons.

Michaels: Kid’s club event on November 14th from 10am to 12 pm. Children can make a Felt Christmas Mouse for $2.
They are also having a family ornament workshop from 1 to 4pm. Stop by to make a reindeer ornament for $5. Fun!
Pottery Barn Kids: Stop by for Storytime each Tuesday from 11-11:30 am. Kid’s can become a book club member and get a special gift after attending 5 story times.
November 14th there will be a St. Jude Thanks and Giving Tea Party at 3pm and 4pm. Kids can bring their favorite doll or stuffed animal or super hero. For a $1o donation, children are invited to enjoy treats and a special coloring activity. Space is limited and prepayment is required.
Williams-Sonoma: The next Junior Chef Class is 11/14 at 10 am. The theme will be Thanksgiving Side Dishes. Suitable for ages 5-13.
Lowes: The next Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic is November 14th. Children can make a Pullback Car at 10:00 am. You must register before you attend. The kids should get an apron, all the supplies for the clinic and a few other goodies.
