One of the most popular drink recipes on the blog is this delicious homemade lemonade (seriously it is so good!) and the Strawberry Lemonade version.
I thought it would be fun to try another variation on lemonade that is just perfect for summer. I love bringing fresh squeezed lemonade to parties as a hostess gift- always guaranteed to be a hit.
You can serve this with either lemon slices and watermelon or serve it with lime and berries as you see above. Either way it is just delicious.
Here is the super easy recipe- this should be enough for 4 people:
- 4 cups cubed Seedless Watermelon
- ½ cup Sugar
- 2 cups Water
- ½ cup Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
- Combine sugar and ½ cup water and bring to a boil. Stir to dissolve.
- Allow to cool.
- Place watermelon, sugar syrup and lemon juice in blender. Blend until totally liquified.
- Add remaining 1½ cup water and blend to mix together.
- Chill and serve over ice!

My children love to make these types of drinks as a treat so this is a perfect summer activity to do with your kids. They can squeeze the lemon juice while you are chopping the watermelon.
I think the star shaped watermelon and blueberries are so fun for Memorial Day and 4th of July. You could serve them with the watermelon lollipops- details to make these here.
One little tip is to try using frozen blueberries in the drink- it helps the lemonade stay cool.
And here is one other idea you might like as an alternative to iced tea for the adults:
Copycat Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade. So simple and so good!
