I just tried to purchase the Michael’s discounted ($40 for $50 card) gift card online. Apparently not available. Dishonest advertising! Also unable to contact their customer service on their website. What happened?

So sorry you were disappointed. I hate missing out on things too.
But I don’t think there is dishonest advertising. Both the Michael’s ad and the post say “This offer is only available from Sunday until Tuesday- while supplies last.”
Unfortunately you tried to purchase at 11:23 pm EST on Tuesday so really the very last few minutes of the offer. Technically the offer should have been available for about 30 more minutes only but sometimes web sites will switch over a little early. The ad and the post do mention while supplies last though and we don’t know how many were available and how many were purchased. They may have gone through the entire budget for the promotion already and ended it a little early. That is not unreasonable.
I am sorry you missed the offer but this was posted early on Sunday morning. I like to encourage people to never wait until the last minute because sometimes you can be disappointed. I know I have learned that myself the hard way 🙂
